Why are Caucasians vanishing in tv commercials?

Commercials take up 27% of commercial television screen time and are the main source of income for TV and radio stations. In most cases, advertisements on all channels appear simultaneously, so don't try to change the channel, there will be commercials elsewhere, too. Nowadays they have also taken over the Internet. For financial support, websites have to run ads on their pages, the largest share supplied and controlled by Google. Ads pry into your eyes, unceremoniously interfere with text, and on YouTube, in the most inappropriate places, they cut into the action of films, lectures, and concerts, tearing apart musical performances. There's no escaping commercials, we've grown accustomed to them, and they become almost as much a part of our lives as food, toilets, and sleep.

White men are only shown as beta males, buffoons, bad news or home invaders in security commercials. Very few men of any color can drive a car in the automotive commercials but never white men. Positions of authority are always black females now, white guys do show up some when they have black families. I make it a point to try and remember these commercials and avoid their products at all costs.

I don’t care about most of this, but it does make me wonder how most advertisers are on the same page. Blacks make up about 14% of the general population of America, but watching tv, you’d guess it was closer to 50%. Most families in commercials are inter racial with the decided majority being a white male paired with a black female. I could go on, but my real point is, how does a diverse group of advertisers adhere to common themes?

I see the same thing in corporate training videos from HR. There is always a toxic white guy causing problems in the office, and a ditzy white female who is in over her head and can’t manage the work. Fortunately, there is always a black man, or a black woman, in a position of authority, and they can swoop in and fix all the stuff that needs fixing and get those silly white people back on the right track.

What you are seeing is a lot of interracial families being portrayed also, lots of diversity that only happens in fantasy world. Glad I do not have cable any longer.

I am inundated with Medicare commercials night and day or Liberty Mutual insurance commercials and I can’t stand Doug.

Once in awhile I see something pretty funny, but not often.

I don’t watch much tv, but I’ve sure noticed the commercials! Just about ALL non-white, and any couples are almost always mixed race. The men are the ones now doing the laundry, changing the diapers, baking cookies while they wait for someone to hire them, etc. If you judged Canada by its commercials, there are very few whites, and the white males there are, are very feminine, and not very bright.

I don't really watch TV except for News, but I do know that Non White Minorities blame everything on Whitey and White privilege, So i have taken the necessary steps to try and prevent any of my White Privilege from rubbing off on to Minorities by REFUSING to have any Business relationship with them. I could never live with myself if my privilege of working long hard days and taking care of my family ever rubbed off on one of them. So I am JUST SAYING NO to ALL Minorities.

One of the best things about a DVR is the ability to fast forward through commercials. I also pay extra on the "Discovery ID" app for commercial free. It's entirely worth it.

When I do fast forward through commercials, I don't see anyone that looks like me.

Almost overnight, every couple in commercials were either gay or interracial.

The content doesn't bother me, but the coordination is absolutely scary. Who issued the edict and how was it enforced?

Liberty Mutual insurance commercials and I can’t stand Doug.

Can't stand him or that stupid emu.

Worse is the Gaico Gecko - and I'm glad I'm able to fast forward through anything with "Flo" in it.

Thank God for the fast forwarding function on the DVR.
