Schumer could also use pixie dust to get Manchin and Sinema on board.

Anything that keeps another Trump riff-raff out of office is fine with the RINO establishment.

The House will pass “an amendment in the nature of a substitute,” essentially deleting the entirety of the original text and replacing it with the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. Lawlessness.

So they have to play games to try to pass something they say the country desperately wants?

If I understand this correctly, this is not to end the filibuster. This is to enact the “voting rights” cheat. As Dems, I fear Manchin and Sinema would sign on to that.

Even if they do manage to get it past the senate, look for any state where it makes a difference to immediately tie it up in court on Constitutional grounds.

Agreed. One phrase comes to mind:

We may not really like McConnell, but he does pay attention.

Could explain why there are concrete barriers once again being erected around parts of the White House.
They really do want to go full “in your face” hostile assault on this, damn the consequences - because they realize they are going to get totally creamed in November unless they can get this Federalization of voting fraud passed. That is literally the only thing that will save them from getting swept from office in one of the biggest Blue purges in any of our lifetimes.
