We will elect Republicans in 2022 who will only play nice with the democrats...

We will only elect people pre-approved by the Democrat Party. No others.

It appears they’re going to use a previously passed bill regarding NASA as a shell. From the article:

What’s important for this current situation, though, is that amendments from the House are considered “privileged,” which means they can be put before the Senate without debate. That, in turn, means there’s no opportunity for Republicans to filibuster bringing the amended bill to the floor.

Since Latinos have now gone 61% unfavorable of Biden per the latest poll I have seen, even their fraud can’t stop the tsunami that is coming.

This is how we got Obamacare.

The Senate got around the House spending origination requirement by gutting via amendment the House appropriations bill “Service Members Home Ownership Tax Act of 2009” that passed in the House 416-0.

Democrats are trying to this again, only worse. They are scheming to gut a House bill in a way that avoids Senate debate, something they did not do with Obamacare.

Sounds like smoke and mirrors, so perhaps Schumer tries it. I’m sure they’re game for a constitutional crisis.

The entire point of the article is that this is a method they could use to bypass the opportunity to filibuster, without suspended the filibuster or making any rules changes.

“an amendment in the nature of a substitute,” essentially deleting the entirety of the original text and replacing it with the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

Re> Before a bill can become a law, the House and Senate both have to agree on the wording of that bill.

Please explain "we have to pass it to see what is in ti?"

Well, the filibuster isn’t a legal process. It’s a parliamentary one. There’s no law about evading or subverting parliamentary procedures.

look for any state where it makes a difference to immediately tie it up in court on Constitutional grounds.

If the past is any indication, the court filings will be deemed either premature or without standing until after the next election, at which time the filings will be deemed too late.

Anybody pointing this out will be declared a terrorist.

I’m pretty sure Dems are, as usual, willing to go scorched earth. They know they are about to get a beating in November, so to try to preserve power, they’ll try this, and if it results in a crisis, so much the better.

No matter what games Schumer plays, they still have to break the filibuster to pass the bill in the Senate.

How DARE 52 Senators defy the will of 48 democrats?

It’s a nuclear approach, crossing way over the line, a despicable act. So Schumer and Nancy will try it. The risk is that one or more Dem senators still vote no given the pathetic approach which still defiles the Senate. I say Sinema is still a no.

California socialists have been doing something similar for over a decade, called “gut and amend”. Now that they have permanent super majorities, they can pass whatever they want in broad daylight without resorting to such tricks.

Of course the dems in the House and Senate hope to pass these election corrupting laws to ensure permanent majorities for themselves, just like CA.

I still think that Sinema votes no based on her previous statements saying it should be debated. So Dems go nuclear crazy nutso and still don’t pass it, quite the historical risk.

The entire point of the article is that this is a method they could use to bypass the opportunity to filibuster, without suspended the filibuster or making any rules changes.

It would only avoid the filibuster on the initial closure vote before debate. They would still have to get around the filibuster to actually vote on the bill.

“even their fraud can’t stop the tsunami that is coming”

Since they have already shown they are willing to commit Venezuelan-like levels of fraud, I can’t really see the logic in this statement. What’s to stop them from just counting votes until they win? The courts won’t stop them, the legislatures won’t stop them, Congress won’t stop them...
