It would seem to me that Trudeau is remembering Nazi Germany in the same way American presidents have for the last 50 years, with few exceptions: They’re using the example to fit their needs, which in this case, are to divide and conquer. They want the power to decide who lives and who dies. If you’re in the least bit resistant to the changes they want to impose, it’s the Death Camp for you and your entire family.
