Oh, no! Definitely not! Pinky promise: No photo already in their files! How dare you even ask such a thing?! The IRS would never do anything so dastardly! The IRS is here to help you!
Convinced now?
Regards,
So when they ask for “random confirmations” before returning your refunds, that’ll still be acceptable? And yeah, this is real, Pennsylvania is already seizing returns unless you comply with their “identify verification requests”, including providing drivers licenses, passports, birth certificates, utility bills, and other documents, all within a thirty day deadline.
These people deserve NO trust, no matter how altruistic they make their pitches sound.
Thought so!
Say "hello" to even more auditing in the future!
Regards,
Same here! Nasty as can be. My blood pressure skyrocketed and I ended up shouting at the obnoxious agent, and I hardly ever shout. Credit lines cut by 90% on two cards, just like that, for no reason. Luckily I had a few other cards with different banks, but that was the last time I dared to ask for a live person anywhere if I had a problem with an account.
Sorry that happened to your wife. I was too angry to cry but otherwise I would have.
Banks are not on our side, no matter what they might say.
It will save them the trouble of getting a “mug shot” when they getcha for “fraud…”
It’s time.
They will then ask for a photo id to be attached. Or they will completely do away with paper returns altogether.
We are sheep being led to slaughter.
Uh huh. Just like the "average" taxpayer will owe the IRS nothing when they first created the income tax in 1933?
See tagline.
When I was working we were doing the payroll with a 15 year old program that was written by one of our IT guys. It was not until they switched to a 3rd party software provider being used by other big cities in our area that was “pretty good at security” that the Fire Department ran into trouble. So no, a “third party” crony corporation who is now going to have a major bullseye on their back is no comfort to me. This is likely to turn into a huge fiasco. Everything the Democrats touch always does.

Several firms that give military discounts already use ID.me.
I’ve used it and it works fine. There was no need to scan an id or facial.
Interesting observation. I saw that earlier today and thought maybe it was related to Taiwan/China. But perhaps not.
Ohio. Need some Lays chips now dang it.
But not a real face.
A phony face.
I just saw an article yesterday about that ID me website. It was much more than photo that had to be presented. The process was awful and I don’t think that the person who wrote the article ever did get through it. And you are giving a 3rd party website all the information they need to royally screw your identity. Hackers anyone.
There are millions of USA citizens who do NOT use cell phones.
I am one.
“They” assume way too much.
It’s also a nice way to build a facial recognition database for the deep state goon squad.
WHAT???????
NO!!!!!!
(IRS) will soon require taxpayers to submit a scan of their face
= = =
I think I will scan my Butt.
That will be my new official ID.
