They are hiring a paid troll.
That’s some world-class jounralistic “ethics” for you.
An enterprising conservative could make good use of the building access they would grant their new employee.
Depressing.
Note that there is no opening to cover far left “extremists”, because the New York Times does not believe there is such a thing.
“...impeccable journalistic ethics...”
That right there disqualifies everyone at the New York Slimes.
Pew Research indicates that 78% of Democrats trust the national news media.

They do not spend that much time, money and energy infiltrating muzzy groups that actually DO plot violent actions.
And the Bee misses another one...
Anyone who thinks this is something new has not been paying attention.
I don't think much has changed over at the NYT.
FoxNews is seeking an experienced, ambitious and motivated reporter to cover the news outlets, online communities and influential personalities making up the left-wing media ecosystem that now serves many liberal Americans who only rely on the mainstream media to inform themselves.
The ideal candidate is resourceful, persuasive and prepared to inhabit corners of the internet that popularize far-left or extremist ideas, providing our readers with a critical listening post on those ideas before they achieve wider circulation.
Candidates should possess the skills and judgment to determine where and why these ideas take shape and to assess their veracity. We’re looking for a journalist who can successfully research and report on the people behind these ideas, shedding light on their motivations and sources of funding, mapping the connections and networks and analyzing how these ideas are being achieved and acted upon.
Experience at document-based investigative reporting is especially important.
You should be able to build and maintain source relationships even in adversarial situations and collaborate with colleagues covering politics, disinformation, technology, religion, national news and other subjects as a consummate team player.
Successful experience covering left-wing media, disinformation or political extremism would be ideal and a robust list of reporting targets would be highly attractive. But we would consider compelling candidates who are new to this beat.
Mastery of breaking news and deadline reporting is essential, as is a track record of producing scoops as well as analytical pieces, features and ambitious enterprise stories.
Prerequisites include the backbone to withstand aggressive blowback, impeccable journalistic ethics and the ability to report accurately, critically and fairly on people with extremist views.
This job will be based in New York and will report to the Politics desk. It is not a union position. To apply, please submit a resume, cover letter and five work samples.
Let me be the first to welcome our new FReeper, “NYTimes” to our forum.
