Biden revives ‘clean energy’ program with $1B loan guarantee

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration has issued its first clean energy loan guarantee, reviving an Obama-era program that helped launch the country’s first utility-scale wind and solar farms a decade ago but has largely gone dormant in recent years.

Under President Barack Obama, the program boosted Tesla’s efforts to become a behemoth in electric cars, but it stumbled after the California solar company Solyndra failed soon after receiving federal aid a decade ago, costing taxpayers more than $500 million. Republicans and other critics seized on Solyndra as an example of wasteful spending under Obama’s stimulus program.

Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm hailed the announcement as a sign the once-high profile loan program is back in business and ready to support deployment of clean energy, from biofuels to nuclear power and offshore wind.

McAwful started a fake electric car company under the last Porkulus and pocketed millions after it went bust.

He lost his election so he needs another scam.

Nukes are absolutely needed in the USA. China is going to eat our lunch as they bring 150+ large reactors online that not only will produce massive amounts of.electricity cheaper than coal over there they plan to use them for process heat to desal huge amounts of ocean water and electrolysis for hydrogen production. Hydrogen being critical to petrochemical industry and also the base material for nitrogen based fertilizer that the entire food chain depends on. China has copied and improved in a Westinghouse gen 3 AP1100 design they now are going to mass produce them at half to one quarter the cost over here per kw of capx. They can crank them out at $2000 kw or less. The Koreans can do it for $1700 using their own copy of a PWR from the USA standardized and replicated multiple times. If you are seeing a pattern you are right nukes are the cheapest form of bulk thermal energy on the planet as long as you don’t allow lawfare and also contractor kickbacks to bankrupt your investors. Uranium enrichment and fuel fab is around 60 cents per million BTU in fully formed fuel rods inside the reactor installed. that’s equal to 3.25 a barrel oil or coal at $16 a ton. Coal has never been in today’s money anywhere near $16 a ton not even at the home mouth let alone sized and delivered to the plant.

For.Coal heads here us U.S.coal prices from 1949 in today’s dollars.

Coal has never once been able to touch nuclear power in a fuel cost basis and before we let the antinuclear zealots use lawfare to stall projects into bankruptcy nukes were in the USA the cheapest form of power. Only bulk solar beats it and only during the day when the sun is up. With battery storage you need to be under $100 kWh to have comparable costs and those batteries are just now being commercialised.

Harvard already solved that issue. Illegal logging has always been a third world problem when the demand for a wood is high and you have people in poverty they will go after whatever is in demand be it redwood, teak, balsa, ironwood.

https://www.woodworkingnetwork.com/wood/lumber-data-trends/Balsa-Wood-Subsitute-Developed-for-WInd-Turbine-Blades-286518311.html

You could and should also use cross laminated composite woods made from fast growing willows, bamboo, hemp or poplar trees. These cross lams are so strong they are building wooden skyscrapers with them. Contrary to popular belief cross lams are very hard to burn they have longer fire ratings than steel beams why because when they burn they form a layer of.char on the.outside that protects the inner structure you size up the beams to account for this char layer. Dense cellulose is so good at fore insulation steel beams are coated in spray on dense cellulose based fire insulation to make their fire ratings goes that for irony.

Was this the presser today where at the end Peter Doocy asked the president about crime and the president responded by calling him a “son of a bitch” on an open microphone. Biden is losing my second time in three days where he made open Mic comments about reporters.
