Only because they want Florida obliterated.....literally
Here we go again....then we’ll be hearing all the cries from Island Governors saying they need money to prevent their destruction!
We can name this tune in one note!
These people never heard of displacement?
When it gets to 2600’ then I can fish off my deck. Until then I don’t care.
From the article:
Corrections and clarifications: This story has been updated to reflect that if the Thwaites Glacier cracks in the next decade, the rise in sea levels by at least a foot could take decades or centuries to occur.
They were too busy taking self-esteem courses to pay attention in physics.
When an ice cube melts in a glass, does the water level rise?
Explain your answer.
5 pts.
1790 for us. So, OH MY GOAWD, we are at risk!!!!
Based on the headline, USA Today wants to spread the impression that Florida is collapsing.
There is no such thing as a glacier collapsing into the sea. A piece the size of Florida would already be in water, its not like there is this giant piece that is hovering over the ocean waiting to be dropped in. Stupid people preying on even stupider people.
Fun fact, Florida’s the flattest state with a max elevation of 347 feet above sea level. Sea level between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans is not the same.
If a mile deep chuck of ice the size of Florida fell out of the atmosphere into the ocean then sea level would raise by about 8 inches. To float that much ice out of the water would require 9 miles of water depth,
Nevertheless ice that melts in the water shrinks volume occupied by 10 percent so its a no net change as long as the ice is not airborne.
Here we go again, the end is near! Geezers, these fools are looking under the microscope measuring time.
OMG!!! OMG!!! Sell your waterfront property imMEEEDiately!!!!
To me.
At 5 cents on the dollar.
Looks like King Obongo is going to lose his seaside dacha. What a shame.
I am a simple minded person, but I’ve always been told that water expands when it freeze and takes up less volume when it thaws.
You can demonstrate this by filling a glass with ice, then pour water into the glass until the water is right at top of the glass.
What happens when the ice melts? The water doesn’t overflow the glass, the level of the water is lower after the ice melts.
Maybe the overall ocean level drops after the iceberg melts.
Ah our daily climate “disaster prediction” has arrived.
And, of course, it has a 0.000000000001% of being correct.
Worryeth not, however. There will be more tomorrow.
Because idiots.
Ruh Roh ... for some reason MSN felt compelled to “clarify” the USA Today alarmist “climate change” fake news with the following placed at the top of the MSN article:
“Corrections and clarifications: This story has been updated to reflect that if the Thwaites Glacier cracks in the next decade, the rise in sea levels by at least a foot could take decades or centuries to occur.”
AAAAAaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! //hair-on-fire
