Speculation circulating online in 2020 has resurfaced on social media claiming that UK Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer was responsible for failing to prosecute Jimmy Savile, the late TV and radio presenter revealed after his death to be one of Britain’s most prolific sex offenders. Starmer was the head of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) at the time of the incidents, but he was not the reviewing lawyer for the case, the CPS said and a report on the handling of the cases showed.

The old bureaucrat defense of “I was not responsible, the system I ran failed!” excuse. He is guilty as hell.
Be really rich if the BBC reported this, as they were the main offenders in protecting Savile.
The incidents lasted for decades. More likely he was the top guy for some of them.
“directly involved”
So they admit he was involved.
“Starmer was the head of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) at the time of the incidents,”
“time of the incidents” is ambiguous.
Was Starmer head of the CPS when Savile molested the children, or later when it was discovered/reported/came to prosecutors’ knowledge?
My vague memory of this is that Savile got away with his crimes for a LONG time. If Starmer was in charge of CPS during the period when the crimes were committed but he had no way of knowing about them, it’s a cheap shot to blame him.
If he was head of CPS when the crimes were known about, seems like he would or should have been in on decisions for a case that high profile. If so, burn the witch.
Who cares, the English are a bunch of proooofers, pedos & moo-HAM-dens anywy
The BBC have just in the past hour reported this - sort of.
https://www.bbc.com/news/60213975
They (the BBC) only mention themselves as follows:
“The DJ and television presenter had attacked hundreds of women and children at various locations including hospitals, schools and the BBC”
The BBC forgot to mention that “In 2016, an independent investigation found that the BBC missed opportunities to stop “monstrous” abuse by the presenter and DJ because of a “culture of fear”. The Dame Janet Smith review identified 72 victims of Savile in connection with his work at the BBC, including eight who were raped. Eleven of his victims were younger than 12 years old”
IOW,he probably *was* responsible.
RIGHT! OK, well then, let’s start with, ummm, were you “somewhere” in the chain and take it from there...
Here in the USA we have clinton and biden and many others like Epstein and in hollywood all sorts. CBS and nbc and abc and cnn all have rapists and pedophiles. They do not report anything unless it is to get rid of someone who has outlived their usefulness.
That's exactly the situation. The investigation which happened during Starmer's tenure was based on very little evidence - the damning evidence was only uncovered years later.
For Johnson to bring up this cheap slur in Parliament says more about Johnson than Starmer. Johnson lives in the gutter, and delights in pulling others down to his level.
