The ABC, CBS and NBC evening networks committed one of the most egregious acts of news censorship by ignoring the U.S. debt topping $30 trillion for the first time ever.
The U.S. Treasury Department released data on Tuesday showing that the U.S. total public debt outstanding was $30.01 trillion as of Jan. 31. The Wall Street Journal reported the new figure “was a nearly $7 trillion increase from late January 2020, just before the pandemic hit the U.S. economy.” Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget President Maya MacGuineas reportedly told The Journal that the enormous spike in the national debt was due in part to “'trillions and trillions of borrowing for no reason other than politicians have stopped being willing to pay the bills.'”
But like the delinquents that they’ve been, ABC World News Tonight, CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News all ignored the story during their evening broadcasts last night.

“WOW! Evening Nets Ignore U.S. National Debt Topping $30,000,000,000,000 for First Time”
What do you mean ? This isn’t the first time the MSM is ignoring THE TRUTH.
MSM...enemies of the people.
Wot… no “grim milestone”?!
The American public is told what to worry about by their TV. It is beyond anything I could have imagined how much control the TV networks have over the public.
This isn’t an issue because it’s required for the fall of this country. Eventually, it will all come crashing down. When it does, if I’m still around, I want to see some of these “journalists” dragged into the street.
"Propagandists", yes.
Who’s really still watching the alphabet soup news? Grandma and grandpa?
It will never be paid so.................. Per A E Newman: What, me worry?
*raises hand*
Who exactly do we owe this “debt” to....?
Congress romping like toddlers in the ball pit at Chucky Cheese’s in the midst of a trillion dollars….
Maybe one of the reasons there’s a MK is that nobody will be let near the new heaven and earth till all of the debts faithless men have incurred is the end of this age are repaid in full and in constant value?
China. And our grandchildren, their children and grandchildren, etc.
Every day has been a new record for decades.
30 trillion seconds ago it was roughly 950,000 B.C.
Who’s really still watching the alphabet soup news? Grandma and grandpa?
In any case, I noticed that CBS had a long segment on the ongoing January 6 investigation, because that’s really important to Americans. /s
1. It’s mostly short-term debt. So interest rate is most variable. Not good.
2. Yes, we won’t repay it, but the interest isn’t optional. If the real interest rate is 3%, that’s $900 billion annual interest out of the federal budget.
3. “ In 2019, taxpayers filed 148.3 million tax returns, reported earning $11.9 trillion in adjusted gross income, and paid $1.6 trillion in individual income taxes.”
4. interest on the public debt for fiscal year 2021 is estimated to be $413 billion. Of course, none of it is being paid out of tax revenues. The interest is being added to the debt. That will end soon out of necessity/reality. Creditors will be maxed out.
“... U.S. National Debt Topping $30,000,000,000,000 for First Time.”
That’s twice now I’ve seen this in the headline.
Which part is “WOW”? The $30,000,000,000,000 or that it was “the first time” this happened?
Technically correct, but would ANYONE wonder “is this the FIRST time?”
I mean we just keep paying off the debt (/s) and then shazam, it goes right back up.
I thought there was a “debt ceiling law ? (/s). A law like that could really help! /s.
I really don’t care. Its just a bunch of “numbers” on paper (computer). Its not “REAL” money. Not like there was ever a “gold standard”... wait... I think there was.
Anyway, one day we could just “WIPE THE DEBT” and say “Sorry Sukkas” for loaning us all that money.
Just like worrying about Japan buying all those high rises or China buying up property. Thank them for the money and just seize back the property.
Whatcha gonna do abodit? Who ya gonna call?
