President Biden reacted to surging crime numbers by pushing more gun control Thursday, and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) responded by tweeting that “Joe Biden’s crime crisis” cannot be blamed on the Second Amendment.
Biden spoke about cannons, “illegal guns,” “ghost guns,” “gun crime,” and “gun violence,” among other things. He compared gun manufacturers to cigarette makers, seeking to open up gun makers to lawsuits, and described a Glock handgun as a “weapon of war.”
He pressed for background checks and pledged a crackdown on “rogue gun dealers.”
Biden then suggested the Second Amendment is not “absolute.”
Stefanik responded to Biden by tweeting:(at link)
Stefanik told FOX News, “I am pro-Second Amendment. We have seen this past year there has been a significant increase in first-time gun purchases because people do not feel secure. They have a constitutional right to make sure that they are able to own that firearm legally.”
She added, “This is crime crisis, this is not a Second Amendment crisis.”

When you have a representative from Noo Yawk defending the Second Amendment against Fake President Biden, you know the world is upside down!
I’ll bet that Resident Brandon thinks the 14th Amendment is absolute! That’s the one that enslaves us all to be Federal citizens of ‘the United States’ instead of being citizens of the several sovereign states; the latter is what the Founders intended.
Blame the crime crisis on grandpa Xiden.
Every 3 day old fish smelling democrat, from Teddy Kennedy in 1968, through to Queen fishwrap Hillary, to President applesauce iden, has spoken almost verbatim on the subject of firearms.
All the laws they have proposed, or enacted, have changed nothing, except to hogtie citizens.
Maybe its time to fire, cancel and delete, or remove all those nice democrats, (my favorite opinion, place them in the southwestern swamps of Louisiana -when the gators come out in late spring!).
Gators gotta eat too ya know. Down around Cocodrie, La would be a fine destination.
Blame (D) run cities.
When ABC and CBS evening news covered Biden’s comments about crime problem, they didn’t show video of Biden talking about cannons. Even the media knows that rising crime doesn’t depend on laws restricting cannons. They just censored Biden’s comments so he could still be “moderate” among some voters (especially the midwest region).
I came to NOLA, in 2000, chasing an AOL hookup, stayed, experienced Katrina, was re-assigned mid-state, and ‘my heart’ is here.
Not more than a half mile, Lake Buhlow, has a few.
Oh, the ‘CSA forts’ there, on the river near the rapids, are rebuilt for tourists.
Progressive reasoning: everyone panicked during COVID and bought guns. They then realized from their NRA pro-violence training how much havoc they could do (because guns exerted mind control over them). Hence they are now wandering around shooting anything that moves.
Reality: the Coof contributed to the decline of civility which, combined with reckless Rat policy led to a crime wave, and people armed themselves in self-defense.
I hated guns until July 2020, when BLM mostly peaceful protestors threatened to ‘take it to the burbs’, at which time my wife forced me to purchase a gun. Now I own 5 and am halfway to becoming a certified firearms instructor.
Elise is terrific. I follow her on
Twitter. Smart, logical woman and apparently her district in (I believe) upstate NY is too.

Take a look at Elise. From upstate NY where there are lots of republicans
Furthermore, cannons are legal to purchase and own in any case. So Biden saying otherwise is doubly wrong. Maybe triply wrong.
Smith & Wesson is to gun violence as Ford is to drunk driving.
It’s like blaming forks for obesity.
Makes perfect sense since Biden just went to New York to talk violence. Would be weird if someone from another state discussed New York.
