She called it Jewish American Princess Fried Chicken and joked about Jewish women sending their 'chauffeurs' to shop, and having 'Cook' prepare the meal 'Watch your nails!' she joked in the recipe which finished: 'You must be exhausted!'
The Anti-Defamation League slammed it at the time as 'insulting' and 'anti-Semitic'
Whoopi's agent defended her by claiming she is Jewish herself, so can't be anti-Semitic
Whoopi said in the past that she chose the Jewish name Goldberg to be her stage-name because she has 'Jewish ancestors'
It has been reported elsewhere that she chose it because her mother told her she'd get more auditions in Hollywood if people thought she was Jewish

I can’t imagine caring what either the ADL or Goldberg has to say. This simply doesn’t seem like that big of a story to warrant all this handwringing, then again Joe Rogan is in the news a lot too and I don’t get what the big deal Is. I suppose I’m just not hip to what is really newsworthy anymore.

I knew a Jewish man use the word “princess” when referring to some Jewish women. I don’t think “princess” is a slur like some other words that are really offensive and anti-semitic words. Some of those princess jokes are funny.

I practice nothing. I don’t go to temple, but I do remember the holidays.” She has stated that “people would say ‘Come on, are you Jewish?’ And I always say ‘Would you ask me that if I was white? I always wondered why Whoopi the Hut didn’t get hit with cultural appropriation before now.
In Goldilocks' case, it's called selective history. She made an off-the-cuff claim, then failed to back it up with facts. I fully support freedom of speech, but with it, comes some responsibility. Those who have a public forum like Goldilocks, should be held accountable for inaccurate allegations. As it is, a sort of "cleansing" takes place on social media every day, yet public figures like Goldilocks, and others have free reign to spew false information with impunity.
People like her have no idea about history. Had she taken the time, she would have discovered that there were blacks in Germany during the Nazi regime. Most of them had emigrated from Germany's African colonies after WWI. Some, like many German Jews, even fought on the side of Germany in that war. While they weren't rounded up and shot, or gassed, some did end up in concentration camps. Himmler made sure he had surveyed every known black in Germany. He had a list, and he was checking it too.
Blacks in Germany weren't allowed to participate in any political activity, nor were they allowed German citizenship. They were forced into Nazi labor for the war effort, their children were thrown out of school, and could not go to university, or receive special training. The government harassed mixed race couples in order to get them to separate. Blacks married to pregnant white woman were sterilized, and their offspring were sterilized. It wasn't just the Jews who were treated badly by the Nazis, but I don't expect anyone as ignorant of history as Goldilocks, to even bother to learn the history of her own people in Germany under Hitler, because it doesn't fit her anti-white, anti-Jewish narrative. I spent many years researching the black regiments that were organized during the Civil War, and tracking down descendants. One thing I learned during that time, was that there were very few blacks who were even interested in their own history.
The rule is that if she is using her celebrity to advance The Revolution she can appropriate any cultural heritage she wants - and She May Not Be Criticized. Didn’t the ADL get the memo? :)

I don’t get the big hoo haa over this. Evidently, Whoopie just identifies racism with the color of your skin, and not particularly being pretty, she has probably been on the receiving end of racism throughout her life. Her defense seems to be you can’t tell a Jewish person by just looking, but of course if your skin is black, you’re black. I think she just never had much “larnin” about Jewish being so victimized. She was unaware, ain’t had much larnin’...figures if your skin is white you get a free ride. I think she has been made aware, finally, of the Jewish victimization by now and for what it’s worth, nada, I give her a pass. Come back strong Whoopie. Probably another thing she was unaware of, there were more Irish slaves, all white as the snow, than there were ever black slaves. Enslaved by the English.
