NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told the league’s 32 teams Saturday that the results of the current hiring cycle for head coaches have been “unacceptable” with regard to diversity, saying the league will retain outside experts to help “reevaluate and examine all policies” guiding minority hiring.
Goodell made his comments in a memo sent to the teams and all NFL employees four days after former Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores sued the league and teams Tuesday, accusing them of racial discrimination. The NFL has only one active Black head coach. No Black head coaches have been hired so far this offseason as teams have worked to fill nine head coaching vacancies leaguewide.
In his memo, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Post, Goodell also said that the tanking and tampering allegations made against the Dolphins by Flores in his lawsuit “will be reviewed thoroughly and independently.” The memo marked Goodell’s first comments on the accusations made by Flores.
Brewer: Brian Flores is done pretending, and the NFL is losing control “Racism and any form of discrimination is contrary to the NFL’s values,” Goodell wrote. “We have made significant efforts to promote diversity and adopted numerous policies and programs which have produced positive change in many areas, however we must acknowledge that particularly with respect to head coaches the results have been unacceptable. We will reevaluate and examine all policies, guidelines and initiatives relating to diversity, equity and inclusion, including as they relate to gender.

If 'diversity' was really the concern then we have a huge problem on the field of the NFL and at places like the NBA
Of course is not really about 'diversity' it is anti-white. The reality of all of this is it is anti-white. All of it.
Why don’t they talk about how many Asian head coaches they don’t have?
Careful, the racial makeup of the players does not reflect that of the general population. Wouldn’t want to have to deal with that issue.

Blacks better adapted to playing than coaching and quarterbacking.
It sure doesn’t make Flores look like a liar when there are nine head coach openings this season and the new hires have all been white as Wonder Bread.
Part of this is in regard to the “Rooney Rule”, a stupid idea that said all NFL teams must interview at least one minority candidate for every head coaching vacancy. While it made some temporary progress, this winter’s results show how easy it is to fulfill the rule but still not promote diversity.
The three teams left unfilled are the Dolphins (which fired Flores), Texans (which fired David Culley, an African-American whom they are trying to replace with a white guy who has never coached beyond high school - talk about bad optics) and the Saints.
I've said for a long time if the NFL mandates at least one female player on the field at all times, the strategy would be fascinating. The top women players would become marketing stars and many of them would likely be trannies. Then, by golly, you'd have some diversity!
Henceforth all team will field a diverse staff and player rooster for every play. Team must field 2 to 3 blacks,3 to 4 Hispanics. At 5 to 6 females. At least one trans people on the special teams

IMHO, they should turn the entire MFL over to the Africans and ban all crackers from playing the little boys’ game.
The league commissioner can complain about the lack of diversity among these coaches and even establish as a point of fact (hypothetically) that the NFL needs more blacks in those positions, but no team has an incentive to take a chance and go outside its normal selection process to hire a less-than-ideal candidate just for the sake of a “diversity” goal that spans the entire league.
So NFL teams, for whom it’s all about winning, are ignoring some of the potentially best coaches due to skin color, but don’t take the same approach for talent on the field? Right.

That is not a criteria. Having a winning coach is.
Flores didn’t get it done. Its not about race.

The players and coaches are hired and paid based on MERIT, which = results and ROI to the owners. The owners couldn’t care less about the employee’s ethnicity or race.
Goodell is not happy about the hiring of coaches to the NFL teams. So what? What can he do about it?
The NFL needs to get rid of this woke bag of dirt. I nominate Condoleezza Rice to take the job. She would put an end to the crap Goodell is delivering.
