There has never been in America a Jewish Question, at least, not until now.
America was built on the idea of a universal identity and a tolerance of differences. From the evolution of a liberal Protestant theology to George Washington’s embrace of the Jewish community, America -- unlike Europe -- did not see the Jews as strangers in its midst, as a people apart, or as a group whose identity stood at variance with others.
In America, there was no compelling desire for society to define the Jew. In Europe, Karl Marx, himself born a Jew and later a convert to Christianity, wrote an anti-Semitic screed, On the Jewish Question. Later Thomas Mann, who might be called a Philo-Semite, authored a lengthy essay with a similar title because the subject haunted Germany and Jews needed a defender.
Europe was consumed, if not obsessed, with the Jew in its midst.
While America had no shortage of anti-Semitic customs and displays of bigotry, Jews were well integrated into American society from the founding of the Republic until the great waves of Eastern European immigration began crashing on America’s shores and brought a different kind of Jew to its attention.
Nonetheless, Jews defined themselves. There was bigotry, hatred, and gentlemen’s agreements, but American intellectuals did not feel compelled to define the place of the Jew in society. To do so would have been contrary to America’s primary values.
America might not have uniformly adhered to its primary values, but its aspiration to embrace those values led to Jewish acceptance that never occurred in Europe even to this day.
But that has now changed and is the biggest threat to Jewish existence since the Klan almost took over the Democratic Party in the early 1920s.

Karl Marx converted to Christianity??
Marx converted to Christianity but I doubt he believed any of its tenets. His “god” was materialism; he hated Jews, his wife and capitalists. Somehow his crackpot theory of life caught on and you see it spreading like wildfire in the US today.
Jews are unique in history, for a variety of reasons. They are impossible to define to everyone’s satisfaction, if that can even be done. And at the moment we are living in an age of simpletons and grievance-mongers.
There is a History of the Jews which can be written in every age, implying that Jews can be understood as an entity. But what about individuals?
Honest discussions, understandably, are extremely rare and extremely dangerous. That is too bad in a sense, but just a function of history.
And one thing Jews have is history.
The answer resides within the rise of the diversity, inclusion, and equity bureaucracy, an insidious institution within an institution that must discover racists or establish pre-determined categories of racists to justify its otherwise meaningless and superfluous existence.
Its very presence is a tribute to white guilt and the incorporation of an us and them mentality that draws on critical race theory to see all explanations of the social order in terms of racism.

It is killing us AND it is a cynical attack on the very foundations of Western Civilization. All these victim groups think they only have to be given positions and they will have made it.
But they will never “make it” because they have not earned it and do not WANT to earn it. As a consequence, 5,000 years of history will come crashing down in a distopia I hope to not live to see.
Most Leftists who happen to have Jewish origins haven’t - and maybe can’t? - faced up to the fundamental truth. The vast majority of antisemitism in America today comes from the Left. And I mean VAST majority.
It doesn’t matter whether its in Academia, or physical attacks on Jews (overwhelmingly by Blacks) or much of the vile Jew baiting rhetoric of the squad (muslim), in almost every instance it is some brand of Leftist who is doing it. The tiny band of klansmen and other nutters of that stripe are very few in number, universally despised, and have no influence at all.
Will many of those Lefties of Jewish origin take stock of this and re-examine where they stand? Unfortunately from the ones I know the answer is “no”. They will go to incredible lengths to refuse to see that it is their fellow Leftists who are the source of the hate directed against them today. Because of course, Leftism is their true religion.

The 'history' of a people can never be truly defined but only individuals and they are next to impossible to define.
Take your own life as an example, you are not the same as you were when in your 20s.
The old tried and true statement, "History is written by the victors" is trite because it is absolute.
This article has outright falsehoods. Karl Marx was not born Jewish, and converted to Christianity. His parents converted to Lutheran before he was born. Karl Marx was baptised and nominally raised Lutheran, although his family was never religious.

Your post is very good and on-target. But you make it sound like the klan are right-wingers. That is a leftist lie. The klan are leftists. Why? The klan would use the power of gov't to enforce their racism.
No constitutionalist would support a big gov't being used to enforce racial preferences. Leftists do that, which is why we have affirmative action and quotas in communist universities.
Today's Democratic Party is still using the tools of the klan and their slave-owning roots in government today.
We know many leftist leaders support Palestine over Israel.
Much like the Palestinians, the leftists do not acknowledge our (constitutionalists) right to exist.
It is also a convenient way to attack Jewish people who happen to support more constitutional boundaries for gov’t.

Marx’s family was originally non-religious Jewish, but had converted formally to Christianity before his birth.
He didn’t convert to Christianity, his parents did.
As an ethno religious community, Jews aren’t unique. There are lots of other such groups such as Samaritans, Yazidi, Alawites, Parsis, Mandaens etc.
The vast majority of left wing Americans who call themselves Jewish are in fact “Self Loathing Jews”. They despise the State of Israel. These American Jews carry the same ideology of the Russian Bolsheviks and Mensheviks. They ultimately want a communist system, where they are exclusively members of the proletariat. You see these Self Loathing Jews everywhere, in Hollywood, in Academia, in Wall Street, in the Media, on and on. For every Boris Epshteyn and Mark Levin, you will see a thousand Bill Ayers and Ron Klain’s.
His parents converted to Christianity, before his birth. I get the sense that it was a business decision.

Observant Orthodox Jews are good people and the opposite of this evil crew. They are the reason for the term “Judeo Christian ethics“ etc.. they are good citizens and more than a few are found in military cemeteries. But the secular socialist wing has infested government with treason and sedition, and uses “anti-semitism” as a cudgel to deflect any criticism of their socialism and sedition.
