San Jose’s city council passed a measure last month requiring gun owners to pay a $25 “harm reduction” fee and liability insurance or relinquish their firearms to the government, making the city the first in the nation to impose an annual fee on law-abiding, firearm owning citizens.
The city’s Democrat mayor, Sam Liccardo insists the new ordinance, allowing law enforcement officials to seize firearms from those who refuse to pay the fees, will ultimately reduce crime and establish “a new kind of framework for gun safety, Slate reports.

“For example, there’s a bar brawl and they’re patting down everybody and someone’s got a gun. ‘Have you paid your fee? You have insurance?’ ‘No.’ OK, well, there’s an opportunity for us to remove the gun. And then when the gun owner comes back and demonstrates that they comply with the law and they’re a lawful gun owner, they get their gun back. But in the meantime, you’ve taken a gun out of a bar brawl. And that’s not a bad thing,” he argued.

Anarcho-tyranny is the dehumanizing state of affairs whereby the state refuses to prosecute violent crime, yet still vigorously enforces even the most unjust and petty laws against ordinary people.

In other words, they’ll steal guns from citizens at every opportunity and make them prove their innocence before they return them, if they feel like it, and after paying an administrative and storage fee. Violations of the Second, Fourth, and Fifth Amendments in one single swing, not bad for a budding police state.
Officeholders rebelling against Amendments II and IV need to be removed from office as per Amendment XIV, Section 3.
This insurrection against our Constitution must be quashed ASAP.
Just sounds like extortion to me. Legal gun owners have already paid for their licenses. Now this city wants them to pay a “might do harm” fee? Knives are often used in bar brawls. So are bar stools and beer bottles. Oh, and leave us not forget fists. Are they going to charge everyone for those, too?
What firearms- mayor? None will be there in the limits of your crazy burg.
Something tells me we’ll be seeing more dead and injured cops if they go through with this, then agin it is Kalifornia and maybe gun owners will comply.
