REGINA — Saskatchewan has announced a plan to lift all of its COVID-19 restrictions.
Starting Monday, Saskatchewan will no longer require COVID-19 vaccine passports. It is also ending its indoor mask mandate at the end of the month.
Premier Scott Moe said Tuesday that providing proof of vaccination against COVID-19 to enter businesses like restaurants had helped in the fight against spread of the virus.
But he said it also created deep divisions in the province — in effect “two classes of citizens.”
“The benefits of this policy no longer outweighs the costs,” Moe said, adding people should be able to choose whether they get vaccinated or not.
“This government is going to respect that right.”
The province recently shifted to treating COVID-19 like a common respiratory virus.
Its chief medical doctor, Dr. Saqib Shahab, has said that because the Omicron variant is less severe, there has been immunity through vaccines or infections, the availability of antiviral treatments and public access to millions of free rapid tests.
Other provinces have said they are also looking at lifting their COVID-19 measures.
Alberta was to hold a news conference later Tuesday, while Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec said they are prepared to loosen restrictions in the coming weeks.

Thinking about this, even if they do back off the mandates, etc., there best be put in place something to protect the truckers, because you know Trudeau and company will go in under the cover of darkness to try and punish the truckers for their insolence. That’s how the Left iperates.

Well yeah, you can travel miles without seeing anyone.
It depends how you define their metropolitan areas, but if you define them fairly broadly, it is about 50%. If you define Windsor-QUebec city, including Ottawa, as a metropolitan area, and then throw in victoria with Greater Vacouver, you might hit 70-75%. There are still some people in the hinterlands—more than 10%. I’m one of them.
Not good enough until there is a law stating that all of these shutdowns, government mandated medicines and papers can never so much as be proposed again without serious repercussions.

Toronto is in Ontario and Montreal is in Quebec. If they follow suit, it will be the beginning of the end.

The same needs to happen in the US. Though due to being less centralized the issue here varies from place to place. I was in a Wal-Mart today, and maybe one in fifteen people had a mask unless they were employees.
Note: I do not believe the vaccines are a secret death plot to reduce the Earth’s population. They appear to be at least partially effective. But, I believe COVID has mutated to a less deadly form. As such, it is time to just live with it. Treat it like the flu.
Drop the mandates completely. No compromise or discussion.
I disagree. This is what the beginning of dominoes falling looks like. Others will soon follow. Each one will be larger .
End the mandates, then and only then have they won.
My better half and I left the People’s Republic of Minnesota last week to spend a couple winter months in the Free State of Florida.
Just this morning, while shopping at Walgreen’s and Target, we were astounded to see a guesstimate of 80% of the customers masked up, along with 100% of store employees.
I honestly believed FL, of all places, would’ve moved past this crapola by now.
The state of FL is fine. It’s the Dem population in certain areas. All of a sudden they’ve taken to wearing masks… sometimes two or three at the same time - and jumping across the aisle from you at the Publix.
They’re imposing this on themselves. I think it’s to prove their Dem bona fides and show you how much they hate DeSantis.
The disturbing thing is that a lot of them are young and male.
Yes I want to see a shutdown of the mechanism of this tyranny.
