Hogan called Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Tuesday to inform him. Hogan said he had also spoken with Sen. Rick Scott (Fla.), the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and Sens. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) to tell them he wouldn’t be running.

Hogan is a *ussy. This is his one shot in becoming a Senator. A “wave” year. Oh well. He’s a loser anyway.

He’s not a conservative...though it is Maryland - he would be a placeholder that just keeps Dems from having a seat to organize in favor of their control. However, he would have used the seat as a platform to attack his own party and be the darling of the media to provide them a voice to damage the Republicans as “extreme”. That would hardly be beneficial.
