Authorities in New Zealand have been playing Barry Manilow's greatest hits in an attempt to dislodge protesters outside the parliament building.
Songs by the US singer are being played on a 15-minute loop, along with the Spanish dance tune, Macarena.
The demonstrators, who are angry at Covid-19 vaccine mandates, responded by playing songs such as Twisted Sister's We're Not Gonna Take It.
The protests began Tuesday when a convoy of vehicles drove to parliament...

Barry Manilow’s songs are fairly singable.
The protesters should just join in.

When they get serious they’ll play Yoko Ono full blast.

Barry Manilow vs. Twisted Sister? Epic.
Of course, Manilow is gay. I wonder what songs they’re using...he has such a huge catalog.
Dee Snider, lead singer for Twisted Sister, came out as anti-Conservative during Trump’s first campaign. I wonder how he feels about Kiwis using the song as a pro-freedom anthem?

Using Sarin is one thing, but this is at a whole new level and definitely worth filing a COMPLAINT at The Hague.

True story. When I was the closing cook at Pizza Hut in central CT in the early '80s, a previous manager had the Jukebox vendor put 12 Barry Manilow 45s in the machine. I used a dollar's worth (nine plays) to drive out teenagers who were staying past closing.
Once I did something unpardonable. While the flip side of John Lennon's "Starting Over" violated Pizza Hut jukebox guidelines, it was on the machine. One play of Yoko Ono's "Kiss Kiss Kiss" was enough to get the poor old guy to leave in disgust.

Another true story, I didn’t care for many of the folks living on my dorm floor, at U if Chicago, so I cultivated habits that would encourage them to keep their distance. One of these was the purchase of a double-length Barry Manilow 8-Track Tape at the Hyde Park Walgreen’s for 50 cents. I played it. Loud. And sang along sometimes. It worked.

I misspelled his name. It should have been “Ottawalks”.
The atmosphere is not at all what I expected. Looks like a joyous occasion. People dancing and having a good time. Not a cop in sight.

In other news, the Babylon Bee is complaining that real-world news is stealing its material. Wow, remember when Johnny Fever was running from the phone cops?
