Joe Senior lived 123 days, exactly four months, longer than Mary Jo Kopechne.

I wonder if they pressured her parents from two sides. Meaning did they offer them a lot of money and threaten them with bad things that would come out about Mary Jo — or even about them, her parents — if they declined to take the money.

And in this case, £7.5 million is much less than I expected; I would have thought she would have demanded something like ten times that amount to make it go away.

Perhaps the Prince got off that cheaply because he threatened her with things he could reveal about her if she didn't take the dough ray me.

Maybe there were some other threats on the other side of the $7.5 million. The Royal Family is certainly capable of carrying out Windsorcides.

Yes. If the parents fought back Mary would be portrayed as a whore in the press and the parents would get the Joe the Pluy treatment. They could have just refused the bribes and told the media they had no comment and wanted to be left to mourn in private.
