A Florida judge has dismissed a defamation and conspiracy lawsuit filed by George Zimmerman against the parents of Trayvon Martin — the teenager he fatally shot in 2012. Axios and The Associated Press report that Tallahassee judge John Cooper dismissed the lawsuit Monday, saying that Zimmerman had failed to show "any fraudulent representation" in his suit. . . .

Zimmerman's lawsuit had claimed that a key witness in his 2013 trial, Rachel Jeantel, falsified her claims so she could testify instead of her half-sister, Brittany Diamond Eugene. Zimmerman also claimed a book written by Martin's parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, falsely painted him as a racist. Martin was Black, Zimmerman has both white and Hispanic heritage.

It’s always essential that the thug be identified as a “teenager”.

Before anyone makes up their mind, they should see or read the investigation which resulted in the lawsuit:

Anyone who thinks lightly about shooting someone in self defense, even when its a good shoot, should learn the lessons of Zimmerman. It will likely change your life and not in a good way unless you are prepared for it.

GZ saved his own life, but his legal fees exceeded $2.5 million. He did not have a US Lawshield or equivalent protection policy to cover his defense. Such policies are not that expensive.

Rachel Jeantel DID falsify her claims. How is that not fraudulent representation?

A sweet, angelic teenager.

The problematic disparity is that the law-abiding, defending citizen usually has a lot to lose, while the thug attacker usually has little to nothing to lose in these incidents. The attacker can take higher risks in his criminal behavior while the defender can’t take the same high risks in defending behavior without a higher cost.

Martin's family was paid a settlement by the insurance carrier for the HOA where Zimmerman lived. The basis for this was that Zimmerman was effectively acting as a representative of the HOA because he was volunteering to keep an eye on the neighborhood. Some states have laws that give HOAs very broad legal responsibility for covering the actions of their volunteer members.

If that was the case, has Zimmerman filed a claim against the HOA for indemnification/contribution to cover his legal fees?

And that’s exactly why organized crime organizations have been so prevalent throughout human history.

The Martin family knew it as well as Rachel Jeantel's half-sister who refused to testify. I'd suspect the Judge threw it out because the Prosecutor knew it too and the court couldn't afford to have all the Prosecutor's cases retried.

This is kind of like the Judge ruling, pre-jury deliberation, that the NYSlimes had no malice against Palin. The evidence in the video, as I recall from watching it a couple years back, if real should result in multiple disbarments, including Crump’s, prison time for many and a lottery sized collective payout to Zimmerman. Can this be appealed?

Face it.
The “justice” system is corrupt. Has been for some time, but we were ignorant of that fact.

The media was disingenuous by showing pictures of Martin when he was significantly younger. On the other hand, there isn’t evidence to call him a thug. Plenty of Freepers say they smoked pot in high school, or got in trouble, and they aren’t called thugs.

He was working on becoming a thug. He was into street fighting and probably (difficult to prove) burglary.

I suspect what tripped the attack on Zimmerman is his first serious relationship, highly sexual and highly emotional, was to Diamond Eugene, and she had just dumped him minutes, at most, before he attacked George Zimmerman.

I cannot think of much else as likely to put a young male into a foul mood wanting to take out his anger and despair on something or someone else.

If a Democrat said that, you'd be making fun of it. Sounds like the kind of thing the ladies on The View would say about Repulicans.

Some people close to me were working on becoming thugs. They managed to avoid it.

He was a troubled youth from a troubled family, on the wrong track. Do you like that description better?
