This is a good idea.
I hadn’t seen it. So if I haven’t seen it, then if it is already posted, who cares. 🙂
I am confused, if they are already running how does this pass legal muster, kind of violates the principle of non-retroactive application of law.
Carpetbagger rule!! Excellent!!
Ortagus was endorsed by Trump. This is simply an attempt to block Trump and what republican voters want.
State law prescribing additional qualifications for (federal level) congressman and senators? Not sure this will pass muster in the courts.
Starbuck is endorsed by Rand Paul, Candice Owens, Charlie Kirk, Madison Cawthorn, Ric Grenell, Jenna Ellis, Ralph Norman, Rudy Guiliani, Ken Buck and Kelli Ward. So this sure looks like the GOPe is circling the wagons and trying to get an establishment RINO elected in the primary.
Not surprising, but not something to encourage.
You have to scroll down to Chapter 13: Political Parties & Primaries. Once there you will see why I provided the main link instead of direct links. 🙂
... would prohibit a person from being nominated as a candidate for United States senator or member of the United States house of representatives unless the person has voted in the three previous elections in this state (Tennessee).

Why? What is special about having voted three times in the state. Consecutive times? Ever? Latest three times?
Someone is trying to do a bill of attainder.
How about some bills saying the only ones allowed to donate money to a politician running to represent the state, must have voted in the past three elections?
This would be struck down by the Federal courts.
Hmmm. That would have disqualified Hillary from her Senate run.
Be careful what you wish for. Next it will be other criteria that determines who can run. Political reasons even. I always thought the qualifications for a US senator/Representative were in the constitution. So do we want to back away from that? The democrats are already trying to disqualify people based on there comments in relation to J6.
new game, same as the old game.
new boss, same as the old boss.
thanks for the post though. i’m going to give my rep and this guy and earful if can.
So stupid. You don’t need a new state law. Simply have conditions and requirements for the people you want into your party.
I read through the comments. Quite a few…..states can’t control federal elections. This will be struck down in federal court.
What do any of you want? Do you want the federal government to control elections or the state? If so, then you should be very supportive of CornPops attempt at federalizing the entire election process.
I thought states weren’t allowed to add eligibility requirements for federal office beyond what is set forth in the constitution? Isn’t that why term limits were struck down?
