Trudeau fights to keep his emergency powers alive as he faces fierce opposition in Parliament: MPs slam his 'unprecedented overreach' as cops flood Ottawa streets to REMOVE Freedom Convoy and block new protesters from joining demonstration

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is facing tough opposition in Parliament as he battles to maintain his emergency powers in a crackdown on Freedom Convoy protesters.

On Thursday, legislation upholding Trudeau's declaration under the Emergencies Act was presented in Parliament, where Conservative and Bloc Québécois MPs voiced fierce opposition.

However, the left-leaning New Democrats said they would reluctantly support Trudeau's minority Liberal government, virtually ensuring passage of the measure upholding his emergency powers in the House of Commons. Together the two parties hold 184 seats out of 338 in the lower chamber.

Under law, any use of the Emergencies Act must be brought before Parliament within seven days for approval.

Debate began Thursday and will continue, according to the Act, 'without interruption' until the vote is called, which is expected to occur as soon as Friday. Canada's largely ceremonial Senate will also consider the matter on Friday.

As debate raged in Parliament, police poured into downtown Ottawa on Thursday in what truckers feared was a prelude to a crackdown on their protest over vaccine mandates, which has paralyzed the streets of the capital for nearly three weeks.

Ottawa's Interim Police Chief Steve Bell said at a press conference on Thursday that checkpoints are being established to lock down the city's core and prevent additional protesters from joining the demonstration. He said protesters currently camped out at the demonstration are free to leave, and encouraged them to do so.

Addressing the House, Trudeau pleaded with legislators to support his extraordinary powers, which have enabled him to summarily freeze bank accounts and crypto wallets tied to the protests in a bid to cut off funding for the movement.

If the police are really doing this, they better hope to God that Justin Auschwitz-Trudeau wins this fight. Because if he doesn’t they all need to find new jobs.

Fraud or not, legislative bodies that supposedly represent the people and personal liberty, actually represent themselves and tend toward control, not toward liberty.

In this context, there is no distinction between enthusiastic support and reluctant support. These folks like to control and regulate. This is their mission, to control and regulate. Freedom for the masses is anathema to their way of thinking.

Of course Trudeau will win, he now has ALL the powers of a Modern State to crush any protests ... thanks to the support of the gutless power-hungry Jagmeet Singh

FedGov is against them, the Provinces don’t support them, the Judiciary has abandoned them, the Media demonizes them, and now most of the Public has been brainwashed to think they’re the bad guys

the truckers can’t go any further, almost everyone’s against them now, and FedGov is about to go full bully on them

get out now!!

“and tend toward control, not toward liberty”

And our genius founders knew the evil that was always trying to pull men in the wrong direction and put in checks and balances to thwart that. Well it was good in theory... lol

This article is teeming with lies. Traffic has always been moving freely in Ottawa. The city is not paralyzed.

An interesting note is the addition of fences everywhere, so we know what is coming.

“What you heard” huh?
From who exactly?
Are you even aware that elections were help quite recently in Canada and Trudeau and his party only got one third of the vote ?
And the current government is only a coalition government?

Not in hindsight though. The three branches work in cahoots to accumulate power outside of the power they were granted in the first place. And to top it off, they are the ones in charge of declaring how much power they are allowed to assert.

Founders abhorred standing army. So our feds decided to work around that and create HUGE standing armies.

Congress is in charge of regulating the value of money. They outsource that to a private bank and wash their hands.

Departments of energy, education - snooping on the public with reckless abandon, elected peeps nothing but puppet actors.

It's sad, it's disgusting, it's reprehenisble, it's immoral, what the government has become is wrong itself, and I will not shed one tear over its eventual demise. It will crumble under its own weight.
