I think when truckers start protesting it’s a sign that the government has lost broad based support among ordinary Americans. It’s scares the government, but instead of listening, they put up fences.

Not exactly so. It has to do with how much contact you must have with these a**holes. That is what the old “Heartland Database” was about. If they have less police and tax collectors and rules about this and that, the less you are likely to have to put up with them. Montana or Wyoming usually came out pretty high on the scales. And, people say that Ecuador is pretty chill. But, if you live in Portland or LA or even Cleveland Ohio, its in your face 24/7.
