Modern rates of sea level rise began emerging in 1863 following the Industrial Revolution, coinciding with evidence for early ocean warming and glaciers melting, the experts found.

It was because of all those SUVs used during the U.S. Civil War.

I figure it was a matter of time before they blamed us Southerners.

And Rudolph Diesel was born on 1858. He was only 5 when the sea levels started rising, likely too young to realize his innovative mechanical inclinations. GM founder William Durant was only 2, Henry Ford was born in 1863. And Louis Chevrolet, Charles Kettering, Albert Sloan and Walter Chrysler weren’t even thought of then.

Utter nincompoopery bordering on lies. The Little Ice Age (driven by solar cycles) reached its nadir around 1700 and the Earth began warming 150 years prior to the first evidence of sea level rise and long before the Industrial Revolution contributed any significant amounts of CO2.

Look, everyone knows there were too many cows farting in the 19th century “CE”

Close...it was Buffaloes. But our ancestors took care of that problem.

I remember in HS science class our teacher telling us young skulls full of mush scientists were alarmed to discover that because of “rising seas” Long Island is sinking at a dangerously fast rate of 2inchrs every 10 years. I haven’t heard of Fredo Cuomo and other lib elitists from packing up and evacuating their mansions on Fire Island and the Hamptons

When the sea hit’s 2,600’ I’ll be able to fish from my deck. Until then I could care less.

However, the time period of 1940 to 2000 registered the biggest rates of sea level rises – up to 0.05 of an inch per year.

Weird coincidence, the Little Ice Age was ending in the middle of the 19th century.

I lived and/or visited Monterey 1981 - 2000. From 1987 - 1999 I spent a week there sometime near Christmas. At this point, I haven’t a clue why. Is Monterey still worth visiting?

I never saw any changes either.

I live on one of the highest hills in my county. I’m on the boarder of Iowa/ Illinois in damn near the middle of the continent.
Every time I turn some ground on my property I find sea shell fossils all over the place.
That was high water.

Objectivity where?

Hmmm, I wonder how many times these Captain Obvious’ looked into or researched on how many times in the history of this planet that the sea levels rose and fell before doing this idiotic ideological driven alleged ‘study’....which are a dime a dozen these days given nearly all of the are nothing more than ideological backed and driven drivel. Yeah, all in the name of “science.”.........which is also now ideologically agenda driven.

So it has gotten warmer since the end of the Little Ice Age (1300 to 1850).

If it had not gotten warmer, then we would still be in the Little Ice Age.
