Trump 2024? Former President Leads With GOP Voters

Nearly half of Republican voters pick former President Donald Trump as the candidate they want for 2024, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as the only strong alternative.

A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports finds that 47% of Likely Republicans voters choose Trump as the candidate they would be most likely to support to be the Republican presidential nominee in 2024. DeSantis was second with 20%, followed by Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney (7%), Texas Sen. Ted Cruz (6%) and former Vice President Mike Pence (5%). Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo each got three percent (3%), the same as the number of GOP voters saying they’d support “some other candidate” in 2024. Only one percent (1%) of Republican voters support Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul as the 2024 nominee. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

I don’t believe this poll. Trump is higher than 47% and Liz Cheney doesn’t have 7% support.

followed by Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney (7%)

By this time next year she will be former Rep. Liz Cheney, probably a pundit bashing her own party on MSNBC to give them a flair of "bipartisanship"

Concur. Bogus. As are all polls this far out. Rush elaborated on this subject for decades. If the bogus media polls this far out, state President Trump at 47% in this disastrous economy and current world situation you can bet your paycheck it’s far, far higher than this in actuality.
The Cheney, Cruz polling is interesting to me and if even remotely true as a ratio bodes ill for any Cruz future on the national stage.

You may not believe this, but there are MANY Republican-leaning voters who do NOT follow the news closely at all. They live their lives and assume, knowing no better, that Pence is a milder, younger Republican who has experience and was Trump's right-hand man. Should they know better? Yes. Are they evil? No. The Cheney supporters are the northeast Christine Todd-Whitman "It's My Party, Too" Republicans who hate us that are evil. The 5% Pence support will melt into Trump or DeSantis once everything starts up for real.

There was a “poll” weeks ago that had Pence at 20% which was nonsense. Any poll that has this Judas leading over Desantis is obviously fixed.

Wow, 51% don’t have a gun in the house? Crazy. I would think a lot more than 61% of gun owners feel safer. Need to see internals of this poll.
