By its neutral stance, India has ensured its disalliance with both Russia and the United States. That is something it should keep in mind when China decides to annex Kashmir or even Uddar Pradesh and no one comes to their aid—not in the immediate future of course, but in the years to come.
If Ukriane is a scapegoat in a Russia/West war, it is because of the inability of Putin to fight the West.
He chose Ukraine. He miscalculated and will not be able to hold Ukraine no keep his puppets in power. In the end he loses the war. In the end Russia loses credibility around the world and he gets weaker economically, from a base of a weak economy.

Where either of those under China in recent memory as a client state as the Ukraine SSR was to the Russia-run USSR? I think the histories are different, with Ukraine-Russia origins both going back to the Kievan Rus.
