The West on Sunday imposed a ban on SWIFT, excluding Russia from the global payments system as a stringent response to Moscow's invasion of Ukraine. Photos and videos that were circulated online showed the Russian public forming long lines outside of ATMs in panic, to retrieve cash to avoid a financial downfall.

The Moscow bank run: a queue for a Tinkoff ATM in the Liga shopping center in Khimki. There are about 70 people in line. Eyewitnesses say the money in the ATM runs out within 40 minutes.

I would imagine the average Russian citizen isn’t supporting this Biden financed Putin invasion, life is tough enough without additional crap. I have my doubts if the Russian military is even into it.

Apparently panic is gripping folks where we are to buy gas. The lines looked like the gas lines in Keiv(Kyiv) the other day when I was going to fill up the truck. NEWSFLASH! Putin’s troops are NOT on our doorstep. If they’re trying to beat the rise in gas prices, we saved 60 cents with our discount. Next time, probably not.
Boy. This war has had a lot of surprises. I would have thought Ukraine would have folded by now. Now it looks like Pukin is gonna fold.

10,000 contract soldiers for Russia are refusing to deploy today to Ukraine because fighting in Ukraine isn’t in their contract. The word is getting out in Russia about what’s happening in Ukraine.
Perhaps his inner circle of robber barons is beginning to feel the same way.

I think the deal will be:
1. Putin keeps Crimea
2. No NATO for Ukraine
3. Ukraine keeps water flowing to Crimea and charges Russia for it
4. Donbass regions get autonomy
5. Russia gets the hell out of the rest of Ukraine

The other day people were saying that China is watching this invasion and the reaction of the west. Now I think China is seeing how Ukraine is fighting and know that Taiwan will fight for sure. And the Chicoms don’t want to look like the Ruskies.
We're also still buying oil from Russia - at the new much higher price.
I suspect there's a connection.
This run on the Russian banks is a significant side effect of the Russia ban on SWIFT. Most of the Russian people were already unhappy about the war. This really drives it home. I wonder if Putin thinks that this war is worth collapsing the Russian economy.
