"I gave Ukraine the Javelins that everyone is now talking about and millions of dollars of other military equipment—the Obama administration gave them blankets," Trump said.
"Reporters asked me if I thought President Putin was smart; I said, 'Of course, he's smart – to which I was greeted with, 'ah, that's such a terrible thing to say.'"
"NATO nations and indeed the world, as he looks over what's happening strategically with no repercussions or threats whatsoever," Trump continued. "They're not so smart. They're looking the opposite of smart: 'If you take over Ukraine, we're going to sanction you.'
"They say, 'sanction? Well, that's a pretty weak statement.' Putin is saying, 'oh, they're going to sanction me; they sanctioned me for the last 25 years – you mean I can take over all the country, and they're gonna sanction me. You mean they're not going to blow us to pieces?'"
Trump called Democrats the worst opponent he has faced, while praising Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"The worst are the politicians," Trump said. "The toughest are the politicians. The meanest are the politicians.
"This year we're being vividly reminded how fragile and precious that heritage really is," Trump said. "I never knew how important being president was."

Note context of calling Putin politically "smart" which the Left spins as commending invasion. And while I do not agree with all Trump says, esp. carelessly, yet such liberals even parrot Trump being Putin's parrot, as if being such would mean a tripling what its predecessor spent on the European Reassurance Initiative, and slightly increasing US troops stationed in other NATO nations, while paying $150 million less for NATO's annual $2.5 billion maintenance in working to increasing the amount other NATO allies supply (knpr.org: Under Trump, NATO Nations Get More U.S. Troops And Military Spending )

I mean people can hate Trump, some of my relatives who were raised democrat - the way democrats are raised to hate certain people, certain groups, to pretend they themselves are the last people who would hate and be bigots, but who are completely uninformed because they are proud of how they hate news media that is not approved by the democrats

There is no bigger supporter of DJT on FR than I (working for him like a slave from the gitgo, contributing financially, etc.)
But, from the beginning, I've never been able to listen to any more than 15 minutes or so of his repetitious, rambling orations, to his sentences that are sometimes almost incoherent, to his awful voice intonation...and speeches that are almost endless in length...and that's why I tune him out and tune in Animal Planet !!!
I know many others of his ardent supporters who feel the same as I.
He must have the worst speechwriters in the business....or he's just sandbagging them by going off-script off with countless jabbering ad libs on his own.
I feel awful that I feel this way about his speeches...but I must be truthful. His unique oratory and voice may have worked once, but I honestly don't think it'll work again for him next time if he runs.
(If he wants to run again, I'll volunteer to be his personal speech-writer and voice-coach at no cost to him, LOL).

I don't think it will...... today's impatient, run-of-the-mill populace would be tuning him out.

The NC Lt Gov was most easily watchable, SD governor Kristi Noem was pretty listenable. Desantis is not presidential in stature with his delivery. It was rought to watch. Don Jr wasn’t the best I’ve seen him. Trump was quite good if a bit rambling when he went off script. I really like Richard Grenell but d@mn he read his speech like a hostage. Kudlow was great. I can watch Cruz podcasts but couldn’t get much into his speech. Same with some others. Didn’t even put Rubio on.
Two years ago I thought Trump was done but now I am not so sure. There’s going to be no greater contrast than a rematch Joe vs Trump. Joe won’t be hiding behind Obama. Trump has the clearly better record on economics and national security.
