Psaki snaps asked why Biden isn't producing more domestic oil

White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Monday grew short fending off questions about why President Biden isn't doing more to increase domestic oil production as she insisted that Vladimir Putin was to blame for sky-high gas prices.

The press secretary also said that the White House has not yet reached a decision on whether to ban Russian oil and gas, which accounted for about 8 percent of US petroleum imports in 2021.

'We're asking other countries to think about maybe pumping more oil. Why not just do it here?' Fox News' Peter Doocy asked the press secretary.

'To be very clear federal policies are not limiting the supplies of oil and gas,' Psaki said. Doocy then noted that Biden had signed an executive order that put a pause on new oil and gas leases on federal land.....

She again noted that there are 9,000 pre-approved oil and gas drilling leases that have gone unused by oil and gas companies.....

She noted that 90% of drilling happens on private lands. 'I would suggest you ask the oil companies why they're not using those if there is a desire to drill more,' Psaki said.....

'The U.S. produced more oil this past year than in President Trump's first year. Next year, according to the Department of Energy, we will produce more oil than ever before. Those are the facts.....

The U.S. hit a record of producing 13 million barrels of oil per day in 2019, but that number has since fallen to 11.5 million barrels. In 2020, the U.S. became a net exporter of oil in a symbolic shift, only to become a net importer again in 2021.

Why should companies risk drilling on GVT land where Biden can cause regulation issues on a whim?

Wait, Jen, if we only use 9% oil and gas from Russia, then how are sky high gas prices Putin’s fault? Sounds like it’s Biden’s policies that are the real reason, not what you’re asserting.

When you get close to the truth, that reaction from someone like that is quite common.

The regime is proceeding like Trump was never President. Meaning in their minds America was never energy independent. Guess they believe the people would forget his Presidency.

Jen Psaki is the greatest Biden gift to the GOP, EVER!. Don’t shut her up. Don’t argue. Let her say her approved lines. It’s all good crawling to despots to help us out...for November.

Every time Psaki deflects the question, it needs to be drilled back: what is THIS Administration doing to produce more U.S. oil and gas.

Shell announced it won’t buy Russian oil.

Will it buy Iranian?

Our gas and oil prices would be doing nothing because of this conflict in the Ukraine if the democrats wanted it that way.

What’s happening is exactly democrat/deep state doing and Russia is be blamed for it.

You are correct about our ginger Goebbls. The politicians lie to creat a fake reality. Obama always used to say,” we only have 2% of proven reserves and consume 2% of the oil, we can’t drill our way out”. Proven reserves is a very restrictive technical term that only applies to what is immediately known and available. It doesn’t include new technology, promising areas of exploration etc. The oil developer Hamm proved Obama wrong when he tapped the Bakken oil fields. The 9,000 permits is much the same. Oil drillers know some of those leases have no oil, some are too difficult to access, some have problems with local, state or federal regulations etc. a permit doesn’t end the problems. The drills still have to meet federal, state and local regulations and permits. Then the developers have to figure out where the oil is. Finally they get to start developing the oil. The whole process can take a year or longer. to develop a well to produce oil. The folks running the rigs know Biden will turn on them and bend over for the environmental whackos in a heartbeat. High risk game pushed higher because of Biden.

Should read “2% of proven reserves and we consume 20% of oil”

Meanwhile, from Pennsy, get a load of the virtue-signaling hypocrisy on display...

The headline is a lie. See the last paragraph, which the enemedia hopes you won't get to, for the proof.

Their friendly media is desperately trying to blame high prices on Trump and republicans. Somebody should tell them that republicans are not running the government and they weren’t the ones responsible for vaccine mandates.

The irony of this entire sanctions’ kabuki theatre is Russia is making substantially more on its energy exports after the war than before. Europe is not importing less Russian energy after the start of the war but more, except Russia is receiving 35% more for its product than before the war because the war has driven energy prices up at least 35%. We have not cut back on importing Russian energy and China is taking all Russia will send. Even Ukraine is receiving Russian energy by letting it flow thru the pipeline to Poland and Poland reselling it back to Ukraine. The Swift sanctions sleight of hand trick was for public consumption because 20% of Russian banks were exempted and that was because Europe insisted some Russian banks not be subject to SWIFT sanctions so they could funnel payments to Russia for the Russian energy they were buying. The cold reality is Russia is making money from this war, although that is not why they started it. Meanwhile Biden is exhorting our enemies like Iran and Venezuela to produce and ship more oil after cutting US production over the last year when the only nation producing and exporting less energy this year than last is the US because of his policies

When you are catching heavy flak, you know you are closing in on the target.

Now is not the time to go all wobbly. Just keep pressing, and either a major meltdown or an abject apology is in order.

Do not expect the second alternative. The current squatters in the Oval Orifice are congenitally incapable of any form of introspection.
