No Sacrifices for Ukraine
Town Hall ^

Posted on 03/10/2022 2:07:47 PM PST by FarCenter

We owe the Ukrainians nothing, yet our garbage ruling class is demanding that we brace ourselves for unspecified “sacrifices” for their sake just as they have every time they have made some foreign policy screw-up. We normals are their janitors – we get to clean up their messes and no one is ever held accountable. No thanks.

I like Ukrainians and, while the whole dispute is much more complex than “PUTIN BAD,” there’s no excuse for the brutal invasion and I hope the Russians lose. To the extent that we might spend some money on bullets and Javelins for guerillas to grind down Ivan, okay. The joke’s on their Russian’s new buddies the Chi Coms – we’ll be borrowing the money from China anyway.

But that’s as far as it goes.

No, we’ve sacrificed enough to the foreign policy screw-ups of Ivy League incompetents. Who got us into the Vietnam War? Who got us into Iraq? Not a lot of guys with high school diplomas, but those guys got asked to fight those wars. The same is true here. I see a lot of Twitter tough guys with the yellow and blue flag in their bios and not a lot of them seem to be accepting Ukraine’s appeal for fighters and enlisting in the Bill Kristol Brigade.

Hey, don’t worry – these same neo-commandos will cheer you and your kids on when we go make Ukraine safe for Ukrainians. Your sacrifices will be appreciated, plebs, right up until it’s convenient to start calling you racist, Jesus knuckle-draggers again.

And if you ask why the hell we are not making America safe for Americans, you are in Putin’s pocket because it is somehow in Putin’s interest that we shut down our open border, end crime, promote free speech here in America.

Ukraine is a cesspool of corruption. And this event is an excuse to pour billions onto that criminal enterprise, where everyone from the Clintons to Marco Rubio can stick their snout in.

LOL. We'll be made to sacrifice as much as the elites want to make us sacrifice for Ukraine or the "Green New Deal" or anything else they want.

We're simply spectators now, and have little more control over our government than the Russians do over theirs.

As we now know DOJ can have you arrested and held for months with no preliminary hearing, no indictment and no trial, and the judiciary will just roll over for it.

Ukraine was invaded. Nothing changes that fact.

“enlisting in the Bill Kristol Brigade”

That’s one for the ages.

As though Kiev is any more corrupt than that whorehouse on the Potomac.

It's only $14 billion for Ukraine, but $1.5 trillion in the new continuing resolution.

” Nothing changes that fact.”

That fact creates no obligation for the US whatsoever.

None.

Ukraine is a cesspool of corruption.
————
So very correct. Their banking system is government sponsored, and noted to be the most corrupted money laundering financial capital of the world. We have no business there, there is a reason they were never admitted to the EU OR NATO…and there is a reason Biden and Hunter took millions from them. We have no business there, period. Let the evil destroy the evil, unfortunately, both Russia and Ukraine citizens will suffer. Nations suffer for those they elect to office….think Senile Joe…

Sad to see MAGA influencers like this guy strapping on their vests and detonating them in support of Putinist Russia. This won’t end well for MAGA. Guaranteed.

All Ukrane aid will be subject to the kickbacks and bribes that Biden and his cronies inside the beltway started a long time. The Obama crew has been implicit all along.

The next question, earmarks in the budget are nothing but bribes. How much of the rest of the budget is skimmed by the beltway crew.

Ukraine is a cancer - on the US body politic

I feel sorry for the Ukrainian people - but all we did with our 2014 coup was swap out Russia’s corrupt oligarchs, for our corrupt oligarchs. Hunter Biden, Chris Kerry thank you for your service

Moreover, Ukraine was used a pretext by the “deep state” to take down Trump - it connections with everything from Steele’s dossier, to the Hillary’s email leak, to the spying on Trump, to the Vindman’s and Trump’s fake impeachment. Now its being used a pretext to cause a war.

Russia absorbing the entire place again would be a BLESSING to average Americans sick of their government’s corruption.

Why are you sitting on your ass posting angry screams at the clouds when you could be catching a flight to Ukraine with a rifle?

I think it basically is what it is. We’ve got this Zelinskyy president fellow trying to channel Churchill, but without recognizing that the thing that actually ended WW2 was possession of the atomic bomb by the Allied side. So while the Ukrainians can fight a conventional war sitting on Russias borders, not everyone can do that because while Putin is unlikely to nuke a place that is a days drive from downtown Moscow, a place that is all the way on the other side of the world might not be so fortunate.

I’m not sure what we have up our sleeve in the way of new tech weaponry, shields, etc. but unless we want to live in a world where Putin waves bombs around to get what he wants, we’d better make the country a place that encourages talent instead of making everyone insanely risk averse because people that act like Putin, with all the paranoia, being all aggrieved all the time, are being given platforms to become worse, and there is a splendid example that we all have today in Putin, in where that goes.

If that cancer metastasizes and Ukraine loses in a bloody manner it will take down President Trump and the MAGA movement with it. Be careful what you wish for. You might get it.

Sacrificing for Ukraine is a deflection away from our problems being due to his domestic policies.

Oh just stop it! This is not our fight. Grow the f up.

You want to help them then volunteer.

Anything more than supplying them with weapons and supplies is just fighting THEIR WAR for them.

Freedom has to be EARNED.
