The Big Sneeze: Climate change to make pollen season nastier
The Associated Press ^ | March 15, 2022 | By SETH BORENSTEIN (D-AP)

Climate change has already made allergy season longer and pollen counts higher, but you ain’t sneezed nothing yet.

Climate scientists at the University of Michigan looked at 15 different plant pollens in the United States and used computer simulations to calculate how much worse allergy season will likely get by the year 2100. It’s enough to make allergy sufferers even more red-eyed.

As the world warms, allergy season will start weeks earlier and end many days later — and it’ll be worse while it lasts, with pollen levels that could as much as triple in some places, according to a new study Tuesday in the journal Nature Communications.

Warmer weather allows plants to start blooming earlier and keeps them blooming later. Meanwhile, additional carbon dioxide in the air from burning fuels such as coal, gasoline and natural gas helps plants produce more pollen, said study co-author Allison Steiner, a University of Michigan climate scientist.

It’s already happening. A study a year ago from different researchers found that from 1990 to 2018, pollen has increased and allergy season is starting earlier, with much of it because of climate change.

The new study found that allergy season would stretch even longer and the total amount of pollen would skyrocket.

Don’t laugh. There are millions of indoctrinated Americans who fear climate change more than anything else.

“Computer simulations…” more data-free “science.”

They better hope there is no sudden onset of another ice age. Obviously none of these (or very few) brainiacs have attempted to perform strenuous physical or complicated precision activity in extreme cold conditions. NOT a walk in the park.

More pollen means there are more plants. Therefore Earth is greening. But that must be a bad thing for some reason.

A result of CO2 making us go greener with more plant life.

Here's an idea: how about we start eating a diet that makes us less sensitive to pollen and viruses, namely with much less wheat and other genetically modified grasses. That will also help get a handle on the obesity "epidemic." Just my 2 cents.

these climate change advocates are so out of it. The natural order of life - climate, weather, air and ocean currents, etc. - has such control of this planet that humans, as hard as they try, have absolutely no affect on it.

I have allergies, all kinds of pollen in their season will make me sneeze and my eyes close making them like Chinese eyes. Every spring I get an allergy shot and all is OK. Some years are worse than others and human caused climate change plays no role.

They say ignorance is bliss. I submit the climate change hustlers are very blissful.

Where one lives has a major impact on pollen and how it affects folks. One of my soldiers in Germany (mid-1970s) grew up in Minnesota and loved hiking. However the pollen in the forests of Germany affected him severely, where as the pollen in Minnesota forests hadn’t.

I had sinus problems in Germany that I didn’t have growing up in the farmland of northern Indiana. The problems got worse when I was reassigned to the Washington DC area. The allergy doctor I consulted at Walter Reed AMC said that the climate of the mid-Atlantic region of Maryland, Delaware, DC, Virginia set off allergic reactions of folks who didn’t previously have problems. When I retired and moved back to northern Indiana, the problems of living in the Wash, DC area disapeared.

and used computer simulations to calculate how much worse allergy season will likely get by the year 2100.

Those computer models are the scriptures of The Church of the Global Warming.

If you are denier you will be held to atone!
