TWEET FURY Bloomberg op-ed slammed for ‘inflation stings most for those on under $300K’ who ‘should take the bus and eat lentils’

A BLOOMBERG Opinion piece is getting backlash after a 'tone-deaf' tweet saying that inflation 'stings most' for those making under $300K a year.

"Nobody said this would be fun," the controversial tweet by Bloomberg Opinion reads, sparking thousands of people to react to the March 13 article by Teresa Ghilarducci.

Ghilarducci makes suggestions in the piece like pivoting to vegetables in order to avoid inflated meat prices, and taking the bus to avoid inflated gas prices.

"I expect those most affected will adjust to inflation in the classic way by shifting away from relatively expensive items toward close substitutes."

The author also recommends that people stop buying in bulk and begin taking a second look at their budgets and recurring fees.

Critics are slamming the article as elitist. Many are saying that Ghilarducci is sharing money-saving options that seem possible from a rich person's point of view but aren't as fair or simple as they seem.

I order groceries on line for pick up. Because I LOVE THIS FREE SERVICE!

That said, I pretty much order the same foodstuffs each week.

This week’s order was a full $25 MORE than last weeks!

Inflation is REAL, Mr. Richy Rich!

I also drove 10 miles to save 27-cents a gallon on gas. Wouldn’t have done that if I wasn’t on fumes, and I ran other errands while there. Saved myself $5.

Happy Days Are Here Again! *SPIT*

What an absolute cluster!

“sparking thousands of people to react to the March 13 article by Teresa Ghilarducci.”

This is the slitch who wants to “nationalize” your 401k. She said it back during the Obama administration. She’s dangerous and needs to be dealt with.

You see where it said to avoid buying in bulk?

During inflation, it seems to be a good idea to buy in bulk.

Were they going for the “noble lie”?

Ghilarducci makes suggestions in the piece like pivoting to vegetables in order to avoid inflated meat prices, and taking the bus to avoid inflated gas prices.

Or maybe we could stop electing politicians with no economic sense who destroy our economy and drive the prices of essentials through the roof.

No shit, this is one reason why the working poor, keep getting further behind.

Government tosses money it doesn’t have into the economy, creating demand, while limiting supply chains.....no surprise, inflation. Stock markets go higher, real estate valuations go higher........but the purchasing power of a dollar continues to decline, making people worse off.

Government has rigged the game for the folks with assets.....all the while increasing the handouts for the poor, who despite the charity, will remain poor. And the middle continues to be squeezed.

God, please make them pay for their sins.......

Another helpful suggestion from Teresa Ghilarducci: If your dog gets cancer, let him die.

"If you’re one of the many Americans who became a new pet owner during the pandemic, you might want to rethink those costly pet medical needs. It may sound harsh, but researchers actually don’t recommend pet chemotherapy — which can cost up to $10,000 — for ethical reasons.

That’s exactly right, buy 10 things at $1.00 or buy 1 @$1 and in. Week or so by 1 @ $1.25 and on and on an on. Just make sure you are buying something you always use.

I order most of my groceries too. If the customer choses to, they can order the first 60 to 90 calendar days with no delivery charge. After that 60 to 90 day period, the store ‘accepts’ a monthly $10. payment from the customers charge account.

I opted not to use the service, because even when I was a member and was paying my $10. a month, the same stupid mistakes continued to happen when I wasn’t paying member.
It’s up to each customer.
