“Why are you rooting for Ukraine?”
Why **wouldn’t** you root for a country that didn’t do anything wrong and just got invaded by a few hundred thousand soldiers? Rooting for them doesn’t mean committing combat troops, mind you, it just means hoping that they get to keep their country, as opposed to letting an aggressive foreign power grab their territory and rule over their people.

I hope we get to keep our country.
I am not hopeful because people can’t stop electing and re-electing Bush League Republicans.
They have been encouraging the invasion of the USA for 30 years.

So you’re rooting for the underdog, I get it. I do that all the time at sports.
What does a Ukrainian win bring to you personally though? What does that world look like? Is it any better, or at least better for you, than the one we’re in now?
