Who will be the first commenter to say they think it’s fake news?
Or not....
Ahhhh. A good old fashioned fragging....
“Western officials”, code for another shovel full thrown into the media handlers provided disinfo feeding trough.
Is it fake? I don't know.
What it is, like much of the news from the region, is unverifiable. There's a difference.
An anonymous "Western official" with no citation said this happened and the MSM reported it. Take it for what it's worth.
It is exactly the type of information to be put out as disinformation by those against Russia.
Know some US commanders that would have faced the same retribution in Iraq or Afghanistan given the chance. Another BS story that ignores the ultimate reality of this war. Ukraine is done. Time to buy an EV and spend 40% more for everything.
To be contrary, it is possible this is true. It has been known to happen among demoralized troops.
37th rifle “brigade” existed between 1922 and September 1941. They could at least check it out before making the crap up.
Niedermeyerski?
If true think about it...

Fragging, to toss a hand grenade into an officer’s tent (or latrine stall). Frag, to kill an allied soldier usually by ordinance.
Possible. Everyone killing each other speaks Russian.
