Sen. Joe Manchin indicated he was open to returning to the negotiating table to revise the Build Back Better measure months after the Democrat torpedoed his party’s sweeping $2 trillion spending bill in the deadlocked Senate.
Manchin, 74, of West Virginia, told climate activists and energy executives Monday at a private dinner he would support a bill narrowed down to address only climate change, prescription drug prices, deficit reduction and an updated tax code, according to Axios.

I want to know why no one has asked the Democrats to show their implementation plan and financial analysis.

He is no dummy; this is about what he can get for the people of his state (of course he *is* one of the people of his state). I bet the quid pro quos play out very nicely in the next few years; being a ‘centrist’ means being able to sell yourself to - or hold hostage - (D) or (R).
I wouldn’t be surprised if he were to challenge Biden in 2024.
They only play out nicely in a closely divided Senate. If we gain even 2 seats this fall he gets nothing. Jumping to our side would gain him a lot right now, but he will get less and less as we get closer to November and polling improves.
I worry about rhe “updated tax code” part. If it’s anything like Biden initially proposed, we won’t have a pot left to pee in.
The deficit was reduced by the Trump tax cut.

Yes. I question the overall IQ of the WV residents when they continue to re-elect this scummy opportunist. They know what he is and what he does, yet he remains.
Dirty little secret is a lot of "conservatives" like their money from Uncle Sam too. They just hate it when it goes to "that other guy."
