LOS ANGELES -- A disability rights advocate will become the second openly transgender person to serve as a California judge after being appointed Friday by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Andi Mudryk, 58, chief deputy director at the Department of Rehabilitation, will serve on the Sacramento County Superior Court.
She follows in the path of Alameda Superior Court Judge Victoria Kolakowski, who became the first openly transgender judge after being elected in 2010.
“Andi Mudryk is a great appointment and will be a wonderful judge,” Kolakowski tweeted. “I’m glad to finally have a trans colleague on the bench in California.”
Mudryk has the distinction of being the first transgender person appointed to the California bench.
LGBTQ organizations hailed Mudryk's appointment and its timing.
“As governors and state legislatures across the country attack the trans community, we applaud Gov. Newsom’s continued commitment to increasing trans representation,” Tony Hoang, executive director of Equality California, said in a statement. "California continues to remind the rest of the country that LGBTQ+ voices are essential to achieve full equality.”

Appointing severely mentally ill people as judges is not the sign of healthy society.
Soon even progressive biological women are going to figure out they are being mocked. It’s a man’s world out there. Some just tuck it and wear lipstick.

What is it with these middle-aged men getting “sex changes”. They all look butt-ugly and ridiculous. They look more like Benjamin Franklin than any kind of dame.

They get me physically ill looking at them, they just really gross me out. To me if a guy can’t pass, WHY they hell would they go through with it because everyone is always going to know, they won’t be seen as women buy as freaks. What was Bruce Jenner thinking? Dude, you are 6’2”, you look like a melting mannequin with a wig AND all of them still have the voices of men.
Judgement is coming pretty quickly.

Just like with the swimmer kid(s): They are tired of competing with men. It’s not so much that they fantasize about being some guy’s hot love object as “being out of the rat race.” And obviously it affords one some automatic clout. “I’m a minority! Fear me!”
They are going to get us all killed by God.
So Newsom can note this as an affirmative action appointment, and can prove to all these “LGBT” types that he is down with the struggle.
His/Her name is “Andi”?
Some names lend themselves to this transgender business. Andi could be short for “Andrea” or “Andrew”, either man or woman. It keeps us all guessing.
