Opinion: President Biden’s Putin speech in Poland is a catastrophe
New York Post ^ | March 26, 2022 | By Michael Goodwin

He came, he saw, he confused.

Joe Biden’s call-to-arms speech in Poland was long on soaring rhetoric about the virtues of democracy but woefully short on what more the West will do to help Ukraine defeat the Russian invasion. But by the time he got to the finish, most of that was forgotten.

What mattered most and what will be remembered for a long time was a single line the president of the United States said about the president of Russia: “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.”

In the context of the speech and the slaughter of Ukrainian civilians, it’s impossible to understand that line as anything other than a call for regime change, a move that would dramatically raise the stakes with Russia at a time when Biden has been at pains to lower them.

It also raises the question of whether toppling Putin, a subject never before mentioned by the White House, is suddenly the new policy of the United States and NATO.

Ah, no.

Shortly after the speech, a Biden aide told pool reporters that “the president’s point was that Putin cannot be allowed to exercise power over his neighbors or the region. He was not discussing Putin’s power in Russia, or regime change.”

Unbelievable. So what Biden so clearly said is not at all what he meant.

How in the hell can a line like that, so explicit that it could potentially lead to World War III, get into a presidential address if the plain meaning wasn’t the intent?

Then again, maybe it wasn’t in there at all. Maybe the idea just popped into Biden’s addled brain and he added it on the fly.

Yet the MSM compares his speech to Reagan’s Tear Down This Wall moment.

that's probably it - just like Hillary's idiotic "deplorables" remark, spontaneous outbursts by politicians who can't control themselves

course, Hillary's "excuse" was probably that she was drunk again ... was Joe too?

If we only had a “statesman” like Hillary right now to “save the day” with a fake “reset” (I mean “overcharge”) button!! If only we had another red button prop for the two sides to press. Then all would be well.

Joe has always been nothing if not a world class bs artist.

Imho he pretty much single handedly greenlighted the Russian invasion, and is only being dragged kicking and screaming into being a (phoney) defender of democracy.

Reagan wasn’t put into office by massive open fraud. Reagan wasn’t a brazen criminal groping children and taking bribes in other countries. Reagan didn’t align with honest to god nazis.
Biden’s speech fell flat because he attacks democracy and supports Nazis working in support of global government.

Reaganesqe indeed.

If this were Obama or Clinton I’d say it was a calculated “gaffe” but it’s Joe who rambles on and has a history of saying crazy and untrue things.

Under Russian doctrine, carrying through with this threat is justification for the employment of nuclear weapons, in self-defense.

We could inadvertently end up in a nuclear exchange because of Biden’s reckless ad-libbed remarks.

But at least he doesn’t send mean tweets.

Biden’s words make sense if you understand his true motivation.

Biden is not even trying to be a statesman.

Biden’s real motivation is to cover up the Biden Crime Family’s dirty dealings in Ukraine.

He’s a dirty thief, not a statesman.

On Saturday, Biden appeared to call for regime change in Russia, declaring that Russian President Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power.”

On Friday, Biden was speaking to U.S. troops in Poland, and he said that Ukrainian people “have a lot of backbone” before appearing to suggest that the troops would soon be in Ukraine itself

On Thursday, Biden was asked if the U.S. would respond if Russia were to use chemical weapons as part of its invasion of Ukraine. Biden said that such a move by the Russians would “trigger a response in kind.”

Biden and his handlers forget that they aren’t yapping for American media system that they own;

They don’t realize the difference on the worlds stage - where people take words seriously and at their face value.

Our American politicians are SO in a bubble of their own make-believe that it’s pathetic.

Because Biden is a demented addlepated nothing propped up by unseen hands who wind him up and tell him what to say, but he goes off-script.

Even at his ‘prime’, YEARS ago, Joe was hardly the sharpest knife in the drawer. No argument there!

But now, his pitiful and infantile ‘poverty of expression’ and lack of understanding is a constant embarrassment.

You cannot leapfrog every benchmark for effective statesmanship .... you cannot get your ticket punched at every step of your ‘career’, just because of your name or your ability to cheat and intimidate (where others are required to prove their merit and earn their promotions), then, step into the WH with the necessary acumen and experience to meet the challenges, as every OTHER President (except “O’Bozo”) has done, by virtue of a lifelong demonstration of ability and discernment!!!!

My guess is, that line was not in the speech, Dimjo was
(in his mind) on such a roll that he just ad-libbed it.

As I have noted before, late in the day and late in the week, it seems to me is when he is the most gaff prone. Maybe it is when his medications start wearing off.
