Glyphosate was already in short supply heading into the 2022 planting season, but another black swan event is putting an even tighter squeeze on supplies. On Friday, Bayer sent a note to retailers saying due to production issues with a third-party ingredient supplier, the company won’t be able to fulfill some of its previously booked orders. Bayer declared a force majeure, which means due to the issue being out of Bayer’s control, the company will be able to escape contractual obligations.

43% Glyphosate, 2.5 gallon is $160 by me.
What’s a 128% annualized inflation rate among friends?
43% 2.5 Gal is $149 at the local Rural King, so I guess it depends on where you live.

That’s what I paid $129 for in September.
50% 2.5 gal. $153 Southern Oregon
Does this stuff have a shelf life?
Generic glyphosate is a lot cheaper. I paid a little over $900.00 for a 30 gallon drum of 41%. Bayer exiting the market ain’t gonna help prices even for generics, though.
All those folks who don’t like Killex are about to learn just how useful it is.
Pity we all have to pay.
Yes it has, but warning, don’t let it get cold.
The libs said tell you all to use vinegar.
Gee whiz people. Get your hoe out to do the weeding.
And...if she don’t want to do it...find another hoe.
Oops, got my wires crossed there: Roundup, not Killex, which is 2-4D
State forestry guy told me I needed 50% to deal with this cursed Bush Honeysuckle, another pestilence from China. It works. What does the 50% cost at RK?
I’ve been trying to find Bayer’s excellent Spring lawn treatment. It’s not to be found anywhere. Glad I don’t need Bayer’s products for my livelihood.
Most larger landscape companies buy it in 30-40 gal barrels depending on brand.
Never looked. I’ll check when I go back tomorrow for seed.
A hoe won’t do a thing against invasive Sedalia. Neither will a ho.
Wedelia not Sedalia.
I realize for large farms that probably won't work but for hobby farms and back yards it works perfectly.
