This year’s election being a blowout are the only way this would be safe to do - I don’t mean at the Federal level for this undertaking - but at the level of each state.
Fair enough.
That’s why one of the amendments needs to single out members of the legislative, executive and judicial branches for personal life termination if they violate the constitution. And you need an outside group of actual American citizens chosen at random for 1 yr terms, to investigate and make up the firing squads.
After much thought,
I think that the first amendment proposed by the Article V convention
should be term limits for the house and senate,
using the exact same language as the Twenty-Second Amendment
for term limits for the president.
The debates would be interesting...

If/when that amendment was approved, maybe more people would
realize they have nothing to fear from Article V.
I don’t expect the first COS to agree to anything.
As you say, such a result would put to rest the silly fears of “runaway” conventions.
It would also smooth the possibility of future, hopefully annual conventions.
There is a lot of cleaning up to do.
But once again, if they did agree to something, how on earth would there ever be enough states to ratify? How would the current blue states needed go deep red?
For a Convention of the States dedicated to Georgia’s application language, which would re-balance citizens’ rights and state powers versus federal power, the count is 19 down, 15 to go.
For a Convention of the States dedicated to a balanced budget amendment only, the count is 30 down, 4 to go.

I have often wondered why it is that Conservatives are called the “right” and Liberals are called the “left” By chance I stumbled upon this verse in the Bible:
Ecclesiastes 10:2 - “The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool to the left.”
It surely can’t get any simpler than that.

Repealing the 16th Amendment, which would limit the scope of items subject to income tax without apportionment, would be helpful also. A statute to bring back a gold standard* and end the Federal Reserve would be good, also.
*Since our currency has been so inflated, the gold standard would have to set a troy ounce of gold at about $1000 or so.
You make a very good point.
I would say be very very cautious when it comes to convention of states with the purpose of changing the constitution.. It’s pretty good as is. The thing to do is kick the dems and Rino’s out and elect conservatives that has the guts to govern and leave the constitution alone.
American Marxists claim that socialism, despite a hundred years of failure, didn’t work because the right people weren’t in charge.
Let’s not follow their example.
Since the Balanced Budget call is so much closer I’ve come to the conclusion the COS would be best if that one went first. It would make clear the rules which the COS ran under and since it is a single issue it would not do much else. Once that first one is run and done the Chicken Littles would look silly banging the panic drums again.

My fear is that the Left will soon recognize that Article V represents an end run, a flanking movement around Deep State corruption.
They will pull out the stops to stymie our efforts.
The pot of loot is literally trillions. The Left is not about to let that go. The strategy now is to buy off Republican leaders . That is how the Left killed the COS in Nevada and now South Dakota . They also use the loot to buy fake votes at 10$ each. It is amazing the COS has gone this far with such a determined enemy.
