"Hillary Clinton Campaign, DNC Fined $113K for Falsifying ‘Steele Dossier’ Expense"
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

Given unaccountable, unconstitutional, vote-buying spending by desparate Democrats, I suspect that taxpayers ultimately paid the indicated fine.

Corrections, insights welcome.

Does bolster Trump’s lawsuit.

Sorry, but I don't see this. It was already public knowledge that never-Trump Republicans hired Fusion GPS for oppo research on Trump; that, after Trump became the presumptive nominee, the Democrats took over Fusion GPS's work (and paying Fusion GPS); and that the payments to Fusion GPS were made through the Perkins Coie law firm. And all of that was perfectly legal.

The basis for this fine is only misreporting. In the Democrats' filings with the FEC, these payments were included, but all the payments to the law firm were lumped in as "legal services" instead of being broken out for what was just a pass-through for oppo research.

Whether that was careless or deliberate, it doesn't support any of the allegations in Trump's lawsuit.

Exactly. As if the IRS has a box to check for deep state banana republic corruption.

Republican’s didn’t pay for any part of the dossier. Hillary did through her crooked law firm and tried to hide it.

the “oppo” research of the never-Trump republicans initiated with GPS has been examined— it was NOT the Russia Russia hoax and the so called dossier (pee tapes, hotel bed the workds) was created whole cloth through the payment by the Clinton Campaign to GPS Fusion through Perkins Coie— this is well documented.

This fact alone, coupled with many other data sources will aid the Trump Lawsuit— which the discovery phase will LEAK throughout the election cycle (and not being leaked by the target dems and the operatives named in the suit. A who’s who of all the bad actors, who will have to lawyer up to cover their exposure as best they might try).

Quite true, and I never said otherwise. I said only that Fusion GPS was originally retained by Republicans, which is an undeniable fact.

After the GOPe gave up on stopping Trump, the Clinton campaign and/or the DNC took over paying Fusion GPS. It was Fusion GPS that retained Steele to do research on Trump, and it was his memos that became known collectively as the Steele dossier.

At the time Fusion GPS first retained Steele, this transition (to Democratic involvement) had already occurred. But let's not let the never-Trump RINOs off the hook. They were the ones who got Fusion GPS involved in the first place.

You obviously didn’t read the lawsuit.

I skimmed it. You're right that I didn't read the whole thing (116 pages or whatever it was) with careful attention to detail.

Presumably, the lawsuit is bolstered by the knowledge that the Democrats paid Perkins Coie which paid Fusion GPS which paid Steele. But all of that was, as I pointed out, already known.

If you did slog through the whole complaint, I commend you. Perhaps you would enlighten us as to which allegations in it are bolstered by the addition of the question of how the Clinton campaign and the DNC characterized their payments in their FEC filings?

Bear in mind that there was no finding of wrongdoing. The FEC brought the accusation. The Democrats settled the proceeding and, as is customary in such cases, claimed that they were paying the money only to be rid of the bother, and that they were not admitting anything about whether the FEC's accusation was true. I don't know whether the settlement will even be admissible in Trump's lawsuit.
