Whoopi Goldberg went off on one of her fellow co-hosts on The View who called Hollywood elites out-of-touch hypocrites, claiming the statement was akin to racism. As hosts discussed the infamous slapping incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock at the Oscars, Tara Setmayer criticized the audience at the event for clapping for Smith's Best Actor win following the assault saying, 'They gave him a standing ovation which I think, again, goes back to why some people feel like Hollywood elites are a bunch of hypocrites.' 'They go out there and they give these statements of moral superiority about things, and political statements, and then they're standing there giving a standing ovation after [Smith] just assaulted Chris Rock.' Goldberg, a Hollywood elite herself who serves as Academy Governor, appeared angered by the statement and interrupted Setmayer to tell her not to make generalizations. 'It really pisses me off when people start to talk about people who work in Hollywood, not just actors, but all the other folks,' Goldberg said. 'So, please, when you're talking about actors, be specific. If you're pissed off about somebody or how they act, don't put it on all of us because that's like saying all black people like chicken.' The back-and-forth- takes place more than a month after Whoopi returned to the show following an eight-episode ban following claims she mad that the 'Holocaust wasn't racist.'

They are claiming even if they were asked to haul away Smith it would not have been in their purview. Perhaps because Academy hires security and police are responsible for outside the theater

This is landing on Rock because he didn’t want to make a bad situation worse.
Rock is the low man on the totem pole. In the moment he had to be worried about his career so he let Smith off.

If I were to make a comment about black people and chicken, someone like Whoopi would likely say it was “the most racist comment I ever heard”.
In addition to providing nutritious eggs and tasty meat, chickens also do a great job of cleaning up table scraps, weeds, bugs and even catching an occasional mouse.

THEN, right afterward, become the legal lion and sue him and The Academy itself to HIGH HEAVEN for allowing it to happen. Then, Rock wouldn't have to worry about a career and retire with his multi-millions that he would be awarded in a court of law.
This is why I see this whole shitstorm this was a set up as:
A) a diversion to all the evil news coming out about Biden/Dems/Global Asshats
B) a warning to all comics and others who dare to exercise free speech without guaranteed violence coming their way
