A notorious New York mobster who killed three people and attempted to kill two others has escaped from federal custody after recently being moved to a halfway house, according to the Bureau of Prisons. Dominic Taddeo, a hitman from a Rochester-area crime family, escaped on March 28, according to the Bureau of Prisons website.
Taddeo, 64, had been imprisoned at a medium-security lockup in Florida before being transferred to a residential halfway house, also in Florida, in February.
He failed to return from an authorized medical appointment and “was placed on escape status” on Monday, a Bureau of Prisons spokesperson said.

Admittedly, I’m not up on this sort of thing, but when you’re doing time at a “half-way house,” aren’t you typically just a few months away from regular release? If so, seems crazy that he’d go on the lam at that stage. Of course, how do we know that some of his adversaries didn’t “disappear him” rather than this being an escape?
Maybe he’s heard how NYPD’s catch-and-release method of law enforcement.

The FBI lost the 302 form from the original Michael Flynn interview at the White House. They also lost the aerial HD version of the video in the Rittenhouse case, and never told the defense that it existed. They lost the evidence that was found in the safe in Epstein’s apartment in 2019.
