I believe he said it might be a game changer.
Plus, I think there are many doctors besides just the one who have had good success using the drug.
Yes, but the leftist lie continues that Trump "touted" HCQ as a sure-fire cure. He did not, nor did Dr. Didier Raoult.
We should not forget that in the early days of Covid, the infection fatality ratio (IFR) was widely estimated at about 4%. Dr. Raoult established that following early treatment with HCQ and azithromycin (HCQ-AZ), the IFR was close to 0.5%.
When it was established that even without treatment the IFR was well under 4%, and perhaps under 1%, that did put the effectiveness of HCQ-AZ into question. Still, there was plenty of evidence that HCQ-AZ helped when properly administered. Some studies of HCQ-AZ seemed intended to fail, usually by starting the drugs late in the progress of the disease. Dr. Raoult insisted on early treatment.
Plus, I think there are many doctors besides just the one who have had good success using the drug.
Yes, including Yale epidemiologist Harvey Risch, MD, PhD. Here's Dr. Risch's testimony about HCQ to the U.S. Senate in 2020:
