‘The most important issue of our time’: Mass. Senate unveils climate change legislation for electric vehicles, all-electric buildings
MassLive ^ | April 7, 2022 | By Alison Kuznitz

State senators unveiled a suite of concrete climate change regulations tallying more than $250 million Thursday that they consider vital for ensuring Massachusetts achieves net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, including incentives to bolster the transition to electric vehicles and all-electric building construction.

The bill calls for the creation of a $100 million Clean Energy Investment Fund to spur infrastructure developments.

There’s also a proposed $100 million Electric Vehicle Adoption Incentive Trust Fund in the bill, plus $3,500 rebates — an increase of $1,000 from the current provision — for zero-emission cars and light-duty trucks. Rideshare companies like Uber and Lyft would need to comply with stricter emission-reductions rules, and the bill also requires the MBTA fleet to be fully electrified by 2040.

The heightened emphasis on electric vehicle infrastructure is accompanied with a proposed $50 million Charging Infrastructure Council Fund. New developments must also allocate at least 10% of parking spaces for electric vehicle charging.

In a pilot project embedded in the climate change bill, 10 municipalities, including Brookline, can restrict fossil fuel use in construction projects — as long as they receive local approval. Mass Save must also start limiting its funding on fossil fuel equipment.

Barrett said Bay Staters must have grit — and exude collective faith in one another — to “sustain a good life on this planet for all living things.”

Government spending means theft from the treasury. Elected officials salivate every time a new spending program is announced. They’re stealing it by awarding the money to their friends and relatives who quickly set up phony companies to bid on the projects created by the new programs, who then in turn kick back some of the money to these grifters in the form of campaign donations and the like. Think about the half a billion to Solyndra just as an example.

China emits more in one day than Massachusetts in a year. And they plan to increase their emissions in line with GDP growth.

Yes, they were the same idiots who didn’t want to build the Seabrook Nuclear power plant 40 years ago.

Don’t worry Eversource is going to build a huge wind farm of the tallest windmills made in Nantucket Sound.

As I see it, climate change, which means global warming, will make some areas too hot for their present uses and make colder area suitable for things like growing crops and being pleasant places to live.

Warming will cause more water to be evaporated and redeposited as rain. Thus global rainfall will increase which will improve our food supply.

Sea level rise? If it happens, portions of cities will be rebuilt slightly inland from where they area. Lots of job. More modern buildings, streets and other structures.

And they’re against the construction of new power plants. Wind and solar ain’t gonna cut it.

And one of the few power sources that is always on, geo-thermal, is having projects stalled due to concerns about at-risk sub-species.

Electric heat has never been cheap. It has historically been 3 times that of Natural Gas. Whats more is the electric Grid cannot begin to handle this on a mass scale. Everyone will be in the dark. The list of issues goes on and on. Few people will be willing to invest in commercial buildings of any kind.

The “climate change” cult keeps changing their definitions of what “climate change” will be and what effects it will have.

They are counting angels on the heads of pins.

There is no there there.

Did they simultaneously propose a “New Nuclear Power Plant Construction Act” to power their wondrous new all-electric world?

The quicker we kill our ability to produce anything because of the evils of CO2, the quicker China fills the gap. Nothing is being accomplished except to make China the world’s biggest superpower and polluter.

Since the states have never amended the Constitution to expressly give the unconstitutionally big federal government the specific power to dictate politically correct global warming / Green New Deal policy for the states, Massachusetts first needs to lead the states to put a stop to unconstitutional, unaccountable federal taxes for such purposes.

After the states put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes that the very corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification Congress cannot reasonably justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, the states will ultimately find a tsunami of new revenues to do the kind of politically correct, socioeconomic experiments that states like Massachusetts want to do with things like electric vehicles and electric houses.

"[...] a single courageous State may, if its citizens choose, serve as a laboratory; and try novel social and economic experiments without risk to the rest of the country." —Justice Louis Brandeis, Laboratories of Democracy.

After all, given the history of problems with electric vehicles in cold weather, both federal and state government elite desperate Democrats need to wise up to the reality that there is much pioneering work that needs to be done with battery technology before EV's are as economical to operate as gasoline vehicles are imo.

Corrections, insights welcome.

Also, patriots are reminded that they must vote twice this election year. Your first vote is to primary career RINO incumbents. Your second vote is to replace outgoing Democrats and RINOs with Trump-endorsed patriot candidates.

Again, insights welcome.

A secret part of the proposal calls for all buildings to be equipped with massive battery packs and lightning rods to harvest electricity during storms. This should work as well as windmills, etc to replace sources of electricity generated by fossil fuels, nuclear power, hydro-electric and other climate damaging means.
