A Starr County, Texas, woman was arrested and charged with murder on Thursday after authorities said she performed an “illegal abortion,” according to KVEO. Lizelle Herrera, 26, was arrested in connection with a “self-induced abortion,” a Starr County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson told the network. The office decided to pursue the arrest after it was told she “intentionally and knowingly caused the death of an individual by self-induced abortion.” No further details on the case were immediately available. Herrera’s being held on a $500,000 bond, and the case is still being investigated. The case comes as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has taken a hard anti-abortion stance, passing legislation banning the procedure after six weeks.

Should have left murdering babies to the professional licensed killers.
This will be a landmark case. Long overdue.
Scope trial tactics on the way.
As soon as Texas passed the abortion law I knew some dumb woman would try to abort her baby. Now the left will yell about back alley abortions and how it’t hurting women.
Changing culture (of death) will take some bold stances. Texas, dont back down.
GOOD! Make an example of her for all the other harlots to see.
The government can sanction gambling (lottery, casinos), but people can’t;
The government can print money at will, but people can’t;
The government can bribe to get what they want, but people can’t;
The government can sanction the murder of children; but women can’t do it themselves.
SMH...not that I am for abortion in the least sense. Just pointing out the hypocrisy of our leaders.
I’m not really caring much about the fate of a murderer of their own children.
Do you know the reason(s) for her aborting her baby? In cases of incest or rape I can see it; recreational abortions, not so much.
She’s ethnic, too! So they’ll work that into the pathos.
So, you believe in capital punishment for an innocent victim (the baby)?
Sorry, I just cannot follow that logic.
The tide is turning. Time to charge and convict all women who murder their child.
I know of several women who've had that problem, carried the fetus to term and had no end of disasters afterwards. Why inflict the innocent woman with the problems of some either deformed or mentally problematic child.
Again, I'm okay with terminating a pregnancy the moment the woman finds out she's pregnant from rape or incest. I do not believe in recreation abortion where the woman just gets tired of carrying or is mad at the husband/BF or whatever inconvenience the fetus is causing.
Does she know Hunter?
“Considering the fact that the rapist could have any sort of disease or drug addiction that’s passed on to the fetus and secondly incest causes all sorts of problems in itself.”
SMH, there is a lot of ignorance in that statement. Rape may pass disease onto the mother but not to the fertilized egg. It most certainly doesn’t pass drug addiction. Genetic issues can literally happen in any fertilization event regardless of consensual or non consensual sexual activity. One off incest doesn’t necessarily cause immediate harm, it tends to be cumulative over generations of inbreeding as it concentrates recessive genes and reduces genetic diversity.
I'm just lost on the science part - at some point that developing entity is human, and should have rights apart from the mother.
One may believe that it is not human until it clears the birth canal, but that isn't really science.
And destroying the baby does not make the rape less painful emotionally. It may actually increase the emotional turmoil.
I see this as a human rights issue, and pray that someday you may view it as such.
In the mean-time, at least we both have a common love for aviation ; )
Tell you what. Get yourself pregnant by rape or incest, endure nine months of emotional trauma over someone elses kid, go through the intense pain of childbirth then get back to me. A guy’s contribution to the whole process lasts, maybe, what, five or six seconds?
This is just step 1 before legal rape and sterilization.
