And everyone needs a minimum of six weeks vacation. And time of if you and your partner are both breast feeding.
More businesses will close shop and move to other states
Does the 20% cut in hours come with a 20% cut in pay?
Work less, get paid less. How does that pay the bills?
How it will work:
Companies will leave California or lower pay so that paying people overtime for 8 hours will equal exactly what it would have been before the illegitmate law was put in place.
The Communists in California believe increasing the minimum wage will address that, but all it will do is increase inflation. Why stop at $15 an hour? Why not pay them $150 an hour?
I could say that the same people pushing this insane crap are trying to get WW3 started in Ukraine, but I won’t, since it’s off topic.
Just keep the serfs at a minimum standard of living...
That is the desired outcome of idiotic ideas like this...
Work less...Produce less...
Raise prices... Afford less...
Welcome to la la land...
The worker will have to work harder because of the shorter work week. Companies will not hire another person to make up for the lost day. In addition, the worker will make less.
California is definitely not screwed up enough. But they’re working on it!
This was covered on Instagram recently.
There isn’t a planned cut in pay. You get the same pay.
It’s called a four day work week, but it is 32 hours and
not 4x10 hours.
There are studies out there that say production does not
suffer. They state that production for four days increases
to match the production of the five day work week.
I’ll have to say that this info stinks of labor unions
and Leftist university misinformation.
Other may run into this dynamic when they study it.
Don’t be surprised...
Great way to get even more businesses to move out of state.
No reduction pay, right?
It will be mandatory to hire a tranny or two to cover the work. And price controls so the ‘poor’ aren’t harmed by rising prices.
From Sunny California to Lazy California.
Of course this is not a decision that the Constitution or the people have granted state government to determine. But the natural rules of business say for many of those workers if you worked 40 hours for X pay. Then if you take 8 hours less than that The worker will be paid X-(X*1/5) or 20% less than they were making. Now if the government is actually thinking about fixing wages and forcing employers to pay more for less time then I’m out, there’s no equation for totalitarianism. Even if the trains run on time.
Hopefully their biweekly paychecks are shortened by 16 hours of pay.
That overtime pay for the 5th day makes me smell union thugs’ stink all over this.
Who works in California? Only a fool.
Legislators projecting the value added to society by them on everybody else.
NFL and NBA games played there will only be 3 quarters long.
MLB 7 innings.
Los Angeles Marathon 20.8 miles.
