Suing your beloved alma mater is never easy, but that's exactly what Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich did when he saw Arizona State University abusing its tax-exempt status to let big business avoid paying taxes. With this sleazy tactic, many universities across the country are actually becoming the largest real estate developers in their states. Brnovich also sued the Arizona Board of Regents for increasing tuition by an astronomical 300% within a few years and offering illegal immigrants in-state tuition that was lower than what American citizens attending the school from out-of-state paid. He won the latter part of that lawsuit.
So what did ASU and the Arizona Board of Regents do in response? They filed a 200+ page bar complaint against him. Since the left dominates many state bars, it is now weaponizing them to take down conservative lawyers. This way, they don’t even have to bother presenting their case to a jury and proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt; just immediately threaten the person's livelihood under whatever amorphous system they have handy, tarnishing their honorable reputation and obstructing their accomplishment of anything else.

My uncle gave the family university a sizeable check with one condition do not mention his name. They did and it was the last donation they got from him.

For instance, how does a private organization, the bar, get to grant licenses for people to practice law in a public setting?

My university continually wants to have former students email the state legislators to increase taxes to give more public monies to them.
They are full woke, so I ignore the emails. In fact, I’ve thought I would email to cut their monies, though I no longer live in in that state.

The University of Georgia spawned the corrupt Brian Kemp. But it also graduated the magnificent fighter, Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Because our "judges" are British nobility, and we operate under British Common Law apparently. Maybe an unwritten stipulation for the British to leave us alone after the war of 1812 was that we had to be captured by them, and operate under their laws. Why else would lawyers have to register with the British Accredited Registry?
Golfer Ricky Fowler wore his loud orange outfits on the PGA tour in honor of his alma mater Oklahoma State. I can see wearing it while you're at school, but to continue with it for years afterward just makes it look like you're living in the past.
I am with you. I attended school to get educated on very specific topics. I made lots of friends, but I don’t associate them with the university, other then we met there. Some people don’t move on into different phases of their lives. Same with some people and their high schools. Though I can appreciate those that donate to a university that provided them with a good education to make it easier for someone that follows. I have zero respect for people that provide that donation to the sports side of those organizations. That completely baffles me. So many adults live their lives as if they are part of some college team.
But seriously, any nostalgia I have for it is more for the Athens of the late 80's rather than the University itself. My degree means very little to me. I am more proud of my Associate's degree in Machining/CNC Tech.
Still, had alot of fun with alot of good friends, many of whom I still see on a regular basis.
The current version of Athens just reflects the big money that Big Education brings in; it totally lacks the college-town charm it used to have when tuition was $1500 a semester, you could rent a house with a couple dudes for $300/month, and the admissions application looked like a traffic ticket.

Some like Al Bundy never went to college so he relives his glory days as a football player in high school.

I do enjoy the University since I frequently bring my laptop and monitor to the Main Library to work. Very pleasant environment and North Campus is gorgeous all seasons.
The interesting dynamic for me is almost 60% of undergrads these days are women. Which tells me some men like you could make a living in trades and other occupations that don’t require a bachelor’s degree. This is a healthy trend for the country because today’s higher education includes too much indoctrination.
