The biden media likes to connect everything to Putin and Ukraine. Prices were going up well before that. I read one money wise person say the fed won't be able to control it because oil is out of control. Rate hikes by the fed will be meaningless with oil prices rising the way they are.
Moreover, this is a handy excuse for so many simply to raise their prices.

But ....but....it’s Putin’s fault....and gun owners fault....

As Steve Bannon said yesterday, we are in the first inning.
This is the beginning. Don't look at inflation rates from 1981, that was at the end of Carter's mess. Go back to 1978 and look forward. That's what we can expect.
Just one big difference. Inflation is calculated differently today than back then. The BLS hides inflation. The grocery store does not.

Inflation can only run so far. Wages are not keeping up so people will become financially exhausted in the near term future. Biden has shut down the Trump tariffs so a resumption of a flood cheap foreign goods put a ceiling on how producers can raise prices. We are seeing some pretty ominous trends arise from Biden's war from above on America

Explain 1978. Wasn’t that the beginning of Carter?

Right. Plus the Putin effect is actually the Putin/Biden effect. Trump had Putin under control. Russia was behaving. Then Biden took over and everything went to hell.
Unfortunately, the lying liberal spin on this just might work.

My guess is that even the cheap importers will see an excuse to raise prices

Biden might be engineering an excuse for wage & price controls. After all, he is a socialist.

Don’t worry....just like when oil prices went up after Biden’s stupidity, they will blame this on greedy capitalists.

That’s still a major undercount on the actual increase.

In an analyst's note to clients,
BofA chief investment strategist Michael Hartnett warned that surging consumer prices, combined with an increasingly hawkish central bank, could precipitate an economic downturn in the US. FED RAISES INTEREST RATES FOR FIRST TIME IN 3 YEARS, PROJECTS 6 MORE HIKES AS INFLATION SURGES: "
'Inflation shock' worsening, 'rates shock' just beginning, 'recession shock' coming," Hartnett wrote.

I think you’re right about that. Price controls work for a short while. Cheap goods for everyone! Then comes a production collapse, and there is nothing available at any price.
Biden’s handlers might go for it anyway. They might figure the collapse won’t come until after the November elections. Then they’d have two more years to wreck the country.

Well, Thank God it's producer prices skyrocketing and not the retail prices we consumers pay.
