UK government to send immigrants to RWANDA
BBC ^ | Apr 13 | BBC

Some asylum seekers who arrive in the UK on small boats across the Channel will be given a one-way ticket to Rwanda, under new government plans.

Home Secretary Priti Patel is in the African nation to sign a deal for a £120m trial involving mostly single men arriving in Britain via crossings.

BBC home editor Mark Easton said ministers face significant legal hurdles and substantial costs.

Refugee organisations have criticised the plans as cruel and urged a rethink.

Labour said the plan was "unworkable, unethical and extortionate" - the Lib Dems said it would be expensive and ineffective.

Precise details of the plan are yet to be confirmed, but, reporting from Rwanda, Mark Easton said the trial would be restricted to mostly single men the British authorities believe are inadmissible.

Under the proposal, Rwanda would take responsibility for them, put them through an asylum process, and at the end of that process, if they are successful, they will have long-term accommodation there.

The Rwandan government said migrants will be "entitled to full protection under Rwandan law, equal access to employment, and enrolment in healthcare and social care services".

The UK Home Office believes existing asylum law will be enough to implement the plan, but questions remain about the legality of the scheme.

Well I’m thinking that would be a highly effective deterrent to illegally immigrate to the UK.

I’m not sure whether it’s good or bad for Rwanda. It might be an influx of new talent that doesn’t exist in Rwanda at present. Or it might be an influx of illegal trouble makers. It could also mean an influx of muslims to Rwanda, which would be bad.

“questions remain about the legality of the scheme.”

Brits use “scheme” as we would use “plan”.

from state.gov

U.S.-Rwanda Relations
The U.S. established diplomatic relations with Rwanda in 1962, following its independence from a Belgian-administered trusteeship. From 1990 to 1994, the country experienced civil war and genocide. The U.S. seeks to help Rwanda meet the needs of its population, including increased social cohesion in a peaceful, democratic, and inclusive Rwanda that provides good governance and an enabling environment for private sector-led growth. The U.S. supports Rwandan efforts to increase democratic participation, enhance respect for civil and political rights, build capacity of its peacekeeping forces, grow its economy, and improve the quality and outcomes of health care and basic education. Rwanda is one of the world’s poorest countries, but it has made progress in developing national and local government institutions, economic development, maintaining security, promoting reconciliation, achieving Millennium Development Goals, and strengthening the justice system.

So it sounds like Britain will be paying Rwanda to take them.

So that’s a plus for Rwanda.

What happens if they don’t pass the asylum process in Rwanda?

So from the Article Boris says that the influx could be up to 1000 people a day soon. But 3/4’s of the people are granted asylum in the UK. So that’s 356,000 people * 25% = 89,000 people.

Of course the plan could reduce the numbers of arrivals. And Britain may lower the number accepted into the UK.

Rwanda has a population of $12.3 million, so an extra 89,000 peopl is not going to change the demographics too much.

Britain will be paying Rwanda to take them, so they are paying into their native country by going back.

Believe it or not Rwanda has made an incredible turnaround since the genocide there 30 years ago. Its honestly a model for the rest of Africa. Youtube it, if you have time.

A few boat loads and word would get around quickly. This is exactly how to stop the flood of illegals trying to crash your borders. Just send them all to somewhere inhospitable. They would quickly get the message. Nobody has the guts to do it. Here is hoping Britain does, as it is almost too late for Britain already as it is.

Questioning the legality of rehoming illegal alients. Does anybody else see the irony here. Illegal aliens deserve to receive illegal treatment.

I think Venezuela would be appropriate for our relocation country.

Or Washington DC...

ALL illegal alien men and women should be deported to Antarctica to fend for themselves.

The children can be placed in foster care until they are adults and then can be sent to the south pole to be with their parents. /spit
