I think Mandel is a weasel. But I voted for McCain and Romney. At least against Obama. Does that not make me a good Republican?

I agree, it is a stupid attack. Mandel was the nominee at the time and received endorsements from almost every Republican, whether they were extremely conservative, or John McCain.
And Marco Rubio for President in 2016.
I did too. And George Bush! To my everlasting shame and regret.

Treasurer Josh Mandel cast an in-person absentee vote for Rubio around 3 p.m. on Friday, according to a Mandel spokesman.
“Treasurer Mandel voted early for Senator Rubio because he believes in him and felt it’s what’s most appropriate given that he’s his chairman for Ohio,” said Mandel spokesman Seth Unger in a statement sent Sunday afternoon. “As Treasurer Mandel has said from the beginning, he’s pro-Marco Rubio, not anti-John Kasich.”

Sadly, a lot of us (me included) held our noses and voted for those two POS RINOs - either would have been better than Obama.

although i had learned better about the backstabbing gope by the time Romney ran (never supported him), i too, before becoming his most ardent attacker (after the “deal” with bush and obama) once supported and voted for mccain, too. i guess that past mistake (which fortunately the American people erased) makes me the “real” me too.

Mandel comes across as smarmy and arrogant to me.
So did almost everybody else. Not enough voters to win, but probably the lion’s share of those who put Trump into office.
